When TikToker Caroline Baudino (@shop.with.caroline) was in her mid-thirties, she and her husband caught her 75-year-old dad cheating on her mom.
Sadly, her dad was not the most faithful husband. Her parents stayed together until her dad passed away two years ago. When Caroline was about 12 years old, her dad would use her as an excuse to meet up with women.
He would tell her mom that he was taking her out, but they’d end up meeting a woman somewhere.
Caroline’s dad would take her shopping, but the woman would tag along. Caroline’s mom eventually found out, and they got into a huge fight. Caroline was in the center of it, and of course, she sided with her mother.
She looked her dad straight in the eye and told him that if he walked out the door and left them, he would never see her again. So, he didn’t leave, and her parents stayed married.
There were many other incidents throughout their marriage, and they weren’t happy, but they stayed together.
When her father was 75 years old, her mom became suspicious of her dad. She felt like something was going on. Caroline’s dad also liked to send her mom out to Los Angeles to visit her for a month at a time so he could be free to do what he wanted.
Caroline’s mom asked her husband to look through her dad’s emails on the computer because of how tech-savvy he was. Caroline told her that it wasn’t a good idea, but she was very adamant about it.
“He broke into my dad’s email, and there were all these emails and love letters and some racy photos and my dad pouring his heart out, and it was awful,” said Caroline.

There were photos of this woman in their apartment and driving their car. This woman worked for her dad at his office, which was how many of his affairs started. This woman was also younger than Caroline.
Of course, her mom freaked out. Caroline’s dad was furious that Caroline and her husband had busted him. He wasn’t upset about his affair; he was just upset that he got caught. They ended up breaking off the affair, and the woman was fired.
That was the last affair he had that Caroline knows about. Her dad resented her for a long time after that, but they were able to work through it. He experienced a decline and passed away two years later.
She thinks that her parents would have been happier with other people, but at the time, all she could think about was protecting her mom and their assets. Overall, the lesson here is that it’s better to be alone than in bad company.
