A TikTok creator who goes by the handle @szaddii is sharing a story submission from a woman whose husband left her after she got diagnosed with cancer.
Three months after she was diagnosed with stage three cancer, her husband left her for another woman he met at the gym. He didn’t even bother to tell her about it. He simply moved out while she was hospitalized. She also found out more about it on social media.
She first met him at a resort in Mexico in 2020. She had been doing some solo traveling during the pandemic. They hit it off immediately and spent every day together for the rest of the trip. Once they returned home, they picked up right back where they left off. They texted and called every day.
Within a month, they officially started a long-distance relationship. They lived on opposite sides of the country. She lived on the West Coast, and he lived on the East Coast. They made it work by visiting each other as much as they could. She actually paid for most of the trips.
After a year of long distance, they decided to finally live together. He moved across the country for her, and things were going great.
In 2024, they got married and had a small ceremony with close family and friends. From her perspective, everything about their life together was perfect.
She made significantly more money than he did, so she was covering most of the bills and groceries. He contributed where he could, but she was the breadwinner. At the time, she didn’t mind. She really didn’t think much of it.
Then, it all turned upside down in 2025 when she was diagnosed with aggressive stage three cancer. She started treatment immediately, but she was constantly exhausted, and her hair was falling out.
He was there for her in the beginning, but then, he started going to the gym for hours and coming home late. Three or four months after her diagnosis, she had to be hospitalized.

When she got home, his stuff was gone. She tried calling and texting him, but he didn’t answer.
“Now, he did block her on social media, and while she did find that suspicious, she was still trying to give him the benefit of the doubt,” narrated @szaddii. “She convinced herself that maybe something was wrong, that maybe he was hurt or in trouble.”
She reached out to his friends and family to see if they had heard from him. One of his cousins sent her a screenshot of a Facebook post in which he was kissing another woman.
Of course, she was heartbroken, but she didn’t have the time or energy to grieve. She needed to focus on her health. She went through the rest of her treatment with the support of her family and filed for divorce.
In February 2026, she got the news that she was cancer-free. A few weeks later, a friend of a friend told her that her ex-husband now had cancer. Apparently, he found out right after Thanksgiving in 2025. The woman left him for his boss.
“So, now, he’s going through treatment alone, and unlike her, he doesn’t have the most supportive family,” said @szaddii.
“And beyond that, most of them are on the East Coast. Now, she’s not saying that she would wish cancer on anyone, not even her worst enemy. But she can’t help but feel like karma did bring itself around.”
