During the summer of 2024, TikToker Autumn (@autumn.firmage) had a terrifying experience that made her scared of basements as a real estate agent.

She had planned to show five homes to a client, but the first house had already received an offer, so she took it off the list. When the offer fell through, her client was willing to see the home again.

After she showed him the first house, they both agreed that it wasn't anything special. While they headed to the second house, it started to rain. They had to run to the front door to avoid getting soaked.

"The second home is where everything takes place," said Autumn. "The second home that we were set to see was an older home, and in the listing photos, it looked great, but it was one of those older homes that still had the very colorful carpet and the textured wallpaper."

The house was dark and gloomy. The lights weren't working, which just made it worse. There was a bunch of random furniture and candles around the house.

Overall, the house didn't really look like it did in the photos.

After making their way around the main level, they finally reached the door leading down to the basement. They opened the door and went downstairs. None of the lights in the basement worked, either.

"We walked all the way down, and what we saw was literally insane," recalled Autumn. "Both of our stomachs just completely dropped. My client and I were literally in shock, like we had nothing to say."

To their left, there was a huge white sheet with red stains all over it, along with a rope tied into a noose. They also saw a large video camera to their right. They quickly rushed back upstairs without exploring the rest of the basement.

Back on the main level, the furniture setup, candles, and old pictures started to make more sense. It appeared that some kind of ritual had occurred.

In the comments section, several TikTok users shared similar stories.

"There was an old farmhouse [that my realtor and I] went through when I was looking before purchasing my home, and it was so creepy we wouldn't even go into the basement, and we instantly both felt creeped out just walking through the door, which was a skeleton key," commented one user.

"That is so creepy. It sounds like maybe somebody did not want that house being sold. Let's hope that's all it was," wrote another.

"Seems like there were people squatting in this house doing not-so-good things. I'd be afraid of basements, too," stated a third.

"Omg, I had a similar experience, but it was a crack house. My client and I walked in, and we were shocked. The energy inside homes like that is so strong it makes you feel ill," shared someone else.
