Up until this year, TikToker Faith (@mamafaith114) had been homeschooling her son. He just started the first grade and experienced his first week at a regular elementary school.
He didn't want to talk about it at all, which should have been her first red flag. At the end of his second week, he was denied a bathroom break, so he peed himself and had to sit in his soiled pants all day.
"He came home smelling like urine, and the urine was already dried up, so he had been sitting in it long enough for it to dry," said Faith.
The following week, he got on the school bus as usual. But at the end of the day, he was not dropped off at the bus stop where Faith was waiting for him. She saw all the other kids get off the bus except for her son.
"I'm sitting at the bus stop with one of the other moms, and we're just talking," said Faith. "And then, the bus stops a couple of blocks away, not at the normal bus stop, and then the kids get off the bus and come running down."
When she didn't see her son, she started to panic. She immediately got on the phone with the school and asked her neighbor to watch her three-year-old. The other mom/neighbor had also called the school, trying to figure out what was going on.
Faith was told that her son was still on the bus and that the bus should be returning in 20 minutes. She waited for 20 minutes, but the bus did not show up. So, she called the police to report her child missing.
"I call my mother-in-law, and I'm texting my best friend about it," said Faith. "I am literally freaking out. I am sitting on the side of the road, sobbing and crying because I don't know where my kid is."
Ultimately, her son was dropped off almost an hour after the time he was supposed to be dropped off. After this incident, she pulled her son out of school and went back to homeschooling.

In the comments section, some TikTok users shared similar stories about school transportation issues.
"Please make sure you report this to the district because an investigation definitely needs to happen on why the children are being treated this way. My son's school tried pulling the same thing with the bathrooms, and so I called and raised hell. Also, make sure you follow through with a police report on the school and the transportation department because there is no reason why your child should have been dropped off that late," wrote one user.
"The school my oldest went to kindergarten at was horrible. I would call the office, send multiple notes, and message the teacher directly to let them know of any days I would be picking him up. Every single time, he was still put on the bus...I called the school, and they never took it seriously," commented another.
"Happened once with my daughter, but the bus driver drove by the stop and didn't see her slouching in the seat. Thankfully, she had her phone and texted me. She told the driver, and the driver had to go to the other school to pick up the younger kids, so he ended up dropping her off with her little sister an hour later," added a third.
