Dyson just came out with a $499 toothbrush today, aptly called the CameraJet, and they're the first company to put a camera in your mouth!

The camera, which sits just below the brush and comes complete with a tiny strobe light, analyzes 28 images of your mouth per second, and the technology is called Gap Optical Targeting.

From there, the camera, with the help of AI, figures out where the gaps are in your teeth in real time, which then triggers the jet of mouthrinse to get in there and clean up all the plaque.

The jet is conical, which removes more plaque than the traditional needle-type, and it's gentler on your enamel and gums. Dyson invested six years of development, research, and engineering into this cool gadget, and it seems to have definitely been worth the wait.

"Flossing is an awkward and time-consuming chore. Few of us do it even though we know we should. Dyson engineers and scientists have spent well over a decade understanding oral care regimes and how nasties build up in the mouth. Our research has shown that people consistently miss the areas where plaque forms: the gaps between teeth," James Dyson, Founder and Chief Engineer of the company, explained in a statement.

"We wanted to solve three fundamental problems: how to see those gaps, remove plaque, and how to improve cleaning performance while brushing."

"By combining a camera, machine learning, precision fluid dynamics, advanced brushing technologies, connectivity, and WiFi, Dyson CameraJet™ introduces an entirely new way to keep your mouth healthy."

Another cool feature this toothbrush boasts is an RFID tag, meaning it tracks when you need to replace the brush head. As of right now, it's not clear what the pricing on that will be.

And yes, the CameraJet works with the mouthwash and toothpaste you already own, in case you were curious about that.

On the Dyson website, some people have already left glowing reviews of the toothbrush, earning it 4.9 out of 5 stars, with 11 different ratings. So far, it comes in two colors: Ceramic Ultra Blue and Ceramic Pink.

"Astonished by Dyson yet again. I never thought I would enjoy brushing as much as I do now! The bristles and the oscillation of the brush [are] gentle but so effective on my teeth and gums - the clean feels so thorough. I also love the sound it makes from the jets when it flosses my teeth, as I then know it's working & getting all the areas and tight gaps that I normally wouldn't be able to reach. Love it!" one person exclaimed in the reviews section.

"I am really pleased with the Dyson CameraJet, especially because I am now flossing every day - which I wasn't before - and I can really feel the difference. The fresh feeling is something that really stands out, above and beyond any other toothbrush I have used. It feels more like you've left the hygienist! I also find the jet to be much gentler than my previous water flosser. The additional features and accessories enhance the experience - the dock is very satisfying to use, as well as useful for travel, to take mouthrinse, CameraJet, and charger all in one. The MyDyson app - in particular, the live viewing feature - gives me a much better understanding of my oral health!" another person added.

"It's been pretty amazing getting to use the Dyson CameraJet. I really like being able to jet while brushing, and it feels like a big upgrade to my usual dental routine. It's made brushing more convenient and enjoyable for me!" a third person said.
