BrickHouse Child Locator with Distance Alert Tracking Device Keeps Your Kids Safe in Public Areas

July 4, 2008

brickhousealert-300x217 BrickHouse Child Locator with Distance Alert Tracking Device Keeps Your Kids Safe in Public AreasWhile it’s not our own policy to live in fear, when it comes to young children, we agree that some preventative measures to keep them safe can be very wise. The BrickHouse Child Locator is a device that lets you keep a constant watch on your child when in public areas. The device comes with a small tag designed to attach to your kid’s shoes, or clothing. The tag works as a homing device should your child leave the safety zone, in which case the BrickHouse Child Locator will notify you. The tag also has a panic button for your child to use in an emergency. And if your child does wander off, the BrickHouse Child Locator will beep, vibrate, and visually lead them to you. The BrickHouse Child Locator with Distance Alert retails for $189.95, which is a small price to keep your child safe. (Source: Chip Chicklets) [Read more]

June 30, 2008

aeriscycle-300x225 Futuristic Aeris Urban Cycle Must Belong to Aeon FluxThe Aeris urban cycle looks like something out of Aeon Flux. If you don’t know what that is, just disregard the fact that we even mentioned it, nor will we will ever admit to having sat through the whole movie. Anyway, the futuristic Aeris urban cycle features indicators built in to its handlebars to help prevent accidents like having a car cut you off. The whole bike is made of Hybrix, a material supposedly as tough as stainless steel but lighter than aluminum. And believe it or not, the Aeris will be available from Hope come Fall for about 5K. Just make sure to get a really good bike lock. (Source: T3 Mag, July ‘08)

HP Officejet H470 Mobile Printer Works Wirelessly

June 13, 2008

hpprinter-300x225 HP Officejet H470 Mobile Printer Works WirelesslyWhen we envision mobile printers, we envision printers that are likely to produce less than quality results. But the HP OfficeJet H470 changes all that. The H470 has a 50 sheet capacity, it yields up to 330 color pages per cartridge, it has a memory card reader and it features built-in wifi and bluetooth. As for portability, so it weighs 4.5lbs -as much as your laptop, but it’s still a lot lighter than your printer at home. Overall the H470 is a bit pricey at $249.99 but if you really need to have a mobile printer for your travels, the H470 looks promising.

Logitech’s Pure-Fi Mobile Bluetooth Speaker Review

June 8, 2008

prefimobile-300x225 Logitechs Pure-Fi Mobile Bluetooth Speaker ReviewLogitech’s New Pure-Fi Mobile wireless speaker and speakerphone is not the first of its kind. There are many other bluetooth speaker / speakerphone systems on the market but the majority of them fail to deliver a good audio experience. However, Logitech produces some very good speaker systems and iPod docks, so we hoped that the Pure-Fi Mobile would too.

The Pure-Fi Mobile’s goal is to deliver a great wireless audio experience for use with your phone or PC whilst being small and portable enough to travel with. The speaker can last up to 12 hours with its rechargeable batteries. Aside from connecting it to your A2DP enabled phone or PC, you can also connect your iPod or Mp3 player to the Pure-Fi Mobile via the 3.5MM stereo jacket. A cable is even supplied to do so. Of course that means that it won’t be a wireless experience, but blame that on Apple for leaving A2DP bluetooth out. [Read more]

Scientists Developing Paper Plane Designed to be Thrown from Space Station to Earth

May 14, 2008

spacepaperplane-300x225 Scientists Developing Paper Plane Designed to be Thrown from Space Station to EarthThose Japanese scientists are at it again. One of their latest wacky projects is the development of a 8cm thick paper plane designed to be thrown from the International Space Station to earth. Astronauts on the space station will be able to write messages on the paper plane before sending it off. Professor Suzuki and his team behind the project, plan to ask a Japanese astronaut traveling to the station to throw about 100 of the planes in to space. The paper planes are made of special paper that has been treated with a compound that can endure temperatures of around 300 Celsius, so you don’t have to worry about the planes burning up upon entering the atmosphere. If the first mission is successful, they plan on throwing Hello Kitty Branded paper planes to earth on the second mission. Ok, so we made up that last part but is it so far fetched? Personal Pocket Translator Looks like a Blackberry but Isn’t

April 20, 2008

blackberry-language Personal Pocket Translator Looks like a Blackberry but IsntFrom far you may think this is a pretty old looking Blackberry. But no it’s not its actually, it’s a Personal Pocket Size Translator that translates up to 6 languages: English, French, German, Italian, and Spanish. It will also supply you with the local date of where you are, a calculator, and the exchange rate. For $19.99 this is a steal and certainly worth it when you go to London and wonder why that tea just cost you $25 American dollars. On an side note, I think the on-line store selling this device could have used it themselves when they spelled “Personal Pocket Translator - 6 Languges” wrong on their product page.

Pharos Drive GPS 150 Available in Pink

April 8, 2008

pharos Pharos Drive GPS 150 Available in PinkGPS Navigation systems are generally not about being pretty but they are generally more concerned with getting you to your destination without getting lost. The Pharos Drive GPS 150 may not be Tom Tom, Mio, or Garmin on the inside, but at least it comes in some feminine colors. It’s available in Blue, Pink, and Black. Feature wise the Pharos utilizes text to speech technology, it sports a 3.5 Color LCD, and provides instructions throughout the United States. For $199.99 there is no reason you can’t stay trendy even if your are lost, however we can’t help but think that the pink one does look kind of toy-like. This is so the GPS system that Ken would buy Barbie for her birthday.
