Her Coworker Asked For A Bite Of Her $45 Charcuterie Board During Lunch, And She Declined To Share, But Then She Overheard That Coworker Badmouthing Her To Another Employee In The Office
While a thirty-year-old woman took her lunch break at work this week, she decided to order food from a charcuterie place right next to her job.
Now, the charcuterie board she opted to order did cost about forty-five dollars. However, she had been craving it all day and also had a good work week to afford it.
Plus, her ultimate plan was to munch on the cheeses and cured meats throughout the day. Then, once she was finally finished, she was going to offer to share with the rest of her office.
Well, she never got to do any of that– because as soon as she sat down at her desk to eat her lunch, a coworker immediately walked up to her.
Then, her coworker– a twenty-nine-year-old woman– asked if she could have a piece of her food.
Honestly, though, she just straight-up said no. She told her coworker that she was really hungry, had just started to eat, and, quite frankly, just did not want to share her food at the time.
But, as if that was not enough of an explanation, her coworker asked yet again why she felt that way.
So, she basically reiterated the same points– adding that the meal was her food and pointing out how it cost her forty-five dollars.
Rather than just accepting her preference not to share and moving on, though, her coworker decided to keep going and even made a rude comment.

“Are you seriously going to eat that whole thing?” she got asked.
Now, she just responded, “yeah, probably,” and told her coworker her plan to munch on the board throughout the day. And thankfully, after that, the whole interaction ended for a short while.
That was until a bit later, though, when her coworker decided to come back and bring the whole situation up again.
“I hope you’re not feeling a certain way about me,” her coworker actually said.
And at that point, she just decided to be honest. She told her coworker that, yes, she thought the comments were pretty rude– especially considering she was just trying to eat her lunch.
For whatever reason, though, her coworker opted not to apologize or anything and just tried to reason away their behavior instead. More specifically, her coworker actually first accused her of being the rude one and claimed that she should have “said no more nicely.”
Afterward, her coworker went on to explain how they were really hungry, too, and their food had not arrived yet. So, the coworker said she could have handled this situation better.
But, as you can imagine, she was frankly pretty over dealing with the conversation by then, and she finally told her coworker that. Then, she just got up and went to sit in the hallway away from the drama.
Immediately afterward, though, she then overheard her coworker actually talking about her and calling her a b*tch to another employee! So, naturally, that seriously pissed her off.
“I literally just wanted to eat my food on my time and not share,” she vented.
In turn, she has now been left wondering if saying no to her coworker when they asked for a bite of her food was justified or if she actually acted like a jerk.
