She Did Not Congratulate Her Sister-In-Law On Her Pregnancy And Actually Said It Was A Big Mistake, So Now Her Family Is Furious With Her
This woman’s brother and sister-in-law currently have one child together. But, according to her, even having just one extra mouth to feed has put their small family in a really tough financial spot.
Her brother works as a car rental agent and reportedly does not make a livable salary. Additionally, her sister-in-law is a stay-at-home mom to their child– who is four– and has not been working.
So, her brother is the sole provider despite barely making a decent wage. In turn, her mother and other sister have been giving her brother and sister-in-law a fixed sum to help them pay the bills. She has even contributed to their expenses a few times, too.
Despite that, her sister-in-law decided to confront her a while ago and share how they wanted another kid– because, apparently, her sister-in-law did not want their son to be an only child. Afterward, her sister-in-law also asked for her opinion on the topic, and she honestly did not hold back.
“I advised my sister-in-law against it and told her to either wait until my brother gets promoted or until she gets a job,” she recalled.
“I also told her it would be realistically impossible to provide for another child when they were barely coasting by and that she was still young– twenty-seven years old.”
Then, she went on to tell her brother the exact same thing. Unfortunately, though, it appears that neither of them took her advice– because about three weeks ago, she received a call from her excited brother informing her that her sister-in-law was pregnant again.
While on the phone, though, she did not think it was really her place to share her two cents. So, she just told her brother that was great, wished him good luck, and ended the call.
However, she never called her sister-in-law to congratulate her on the pregnancy, and she also never went to the baby shower. Instead, she told her brother she was busy.

And this presented a huge problem after she went over to her parent’s house for dinner a few days ago and inevitably ran into her sister-in-law.
In fact, as soon as they saw each other, the pregnancy came up.
Apparently, her sister-in-law first made a comment about how she was pregnant in a very excited tone.
To that, she responded with an “I know” and basically said the same thing to her sister-in-law that she said to her brother– she wishes them good luck.
Her sister-in-law was not very satisfied with her response, though, and asked, “That’s it?” Then, she got asked if she was actually happy for the expectant couple.
Obviously, though, she was not– but did not think it was the time or place to air out her opinion. So, she tried to deflect and told her sister-in-law that her feelings were irrelevant and underscored how the decision to have another baby was ultimately up to them.
Her sister-in-law would not take that for an answer, though, and claimed that her opinions did matter. Then, she was begged to share her honest thoughts on the pregnancy, and it was not pretty.
“Frankly, I think you’re making a mistake, and this innocent child is going to suffer the consequences of your selfishness. You are not ready to care for another little life when you cannot even pay your own bills. How long do you think my mom and sister are going to support you?” she told her sister-in-law. Yikes!
And after getting that off her chest, her sister-in-law interrupted her with a “what the hell” before claiming that their finances her “none of her freaking business.”
Plus, her sister-in-law then tried to backpedal and claimed that they only asked her opinion out of politeness. Instead, she did not hold back at all.
So, at that point, she reminded her sister-in-law that she was asked to be honest. Still, her sister-in-law accused her of being a jerk and then went to complain about the entire conversation to her brother.
And quite honestly, she did not want to stick around and be involved in any more drama that unfolded. So, she grabbed her purse and just left the dinner on the spot.
Unfortunately, though, the drama was still far from over– because later that evening, she received a furious call from her mother.
Apparently, her mother was absolutely fuming and claimed she had no right to comment on the pregnancy whatsoever. Her mother also said that she should have just congratulated her brother and sister-in-law properly and left it there.
“And that even if my sister-in-law was the one who asked for my opinion, I should have known better than to hurt her with those words,” she vented.
Anyway, after reflecting on the situation, she has come to realize that her words were actually pretty hurtful. So now, she has been left wondering if she took it too far by calling her sister-in-law’s pregnancy a mistake and acting like a real jerk.
