Her Husband Nearly Started Crying When “Breathe Me” By Sia Came On At Her Niece’s Birthday Party Because The Song Reminded Him Of His Pet Bunny That Died Seven Years Ago

This woman has known her husband since 2018. But, two years before they ever met, her husband’s beloved pet bunny passed away in 2016.
Her husband apparently had his bunny, named Gary, for six long years. And the pair were really close.
Eventually, though, Gary became really sick and stayed that way for months. So, the pet eventually passed away, and her husband claims to have witnessed Gary’s last breath.
That’s why following the death, her husband actually used to listen to the song “Breathe Me” by Sia while mourning.
“And every time he listens to that song, he is reminded of Gary,” she explained.
This past weekend, though, it was her niece’s 9th birthday party– and her entire family showed up to celebrate.
The gathering took place in her sister’s backyard, and throughout the party, her sister had some tunes playing from a music channel on a TV inside the house.
Still, according to her, you could barely even hear the music from the outside since all of the guests were chatting.
But her brother-in-law eventually came out with the birthday cake, and everyone began singing and taking pictures when she noticed that something was wrong with her husband. He apparently had his eyes closed and looked like he was about to burst into tears.

She was obviously confused, too, before she realized what had happened. “Breathe Me” by Sia was playing in the background.
At that point, she nudged her husband and told him it wasn’t the time to get emotional. After all, everyone was taking pictures and videos of her niece.
Her husband just stared back at her and looked slightly disappointed, though. Then, he faked some happiness for her niece’s sake.
It was not until their ride home that they discussed the “Breathe Me” incident. And her husband was actually the first person to bring it up.
He accused her of “ruining his moment” and claimed that even though he was emotional, he wasn’t going to be in any of the videos or photos since he was sitting on the other side of the table.
Still, she didn’t really care about that and told her husband that he needed to just get over the loss of his bunny already.
“I mean, it has been seven years, and it’s just a bunny– not a cat or a dog,” she vented.
What her husband responded to her comment, though, did actually start to make her feel bad.
Apparently, he detailed how he wasn’t mourning Gary’s death anymore. Instead, her husband explained how he just got emotional while listening to the song again since it had been a while since he last heard it. Plus, the song reportedly brought up some old memories for her husband.
So, she’s starting to feel torn over the whole incident.
“I am still not sure if it was the right time to get emotional when everyone was celebrating, but I understand that he had a special moment there,” she admitted.
And now, she’s been left wondering whether “ruining” her husband’s special moment at her niece’s birthday party was the wrong thing to do.
Do you think seven years is too long to still be grieving the loss of a pet? At the same time, do you believe it was right for her to compare her husband’s bunny to a cat or dog? Was it the right time and place to have a “special moment” or not? How would you have reacted in this situation?
