She Suggested That Her Stepsister Just Cancel Her Wedding After Her Stepsister Wouldn’t Stop Complaining About Them Having The Same In-Laws

This young woman and her stepsister are currently engaged to brothers. Her fiancé is named Nick; meanwhile, her stepsister’s fiancé, Alex, is Nick’s younger brother.
But, she was the first to start dating her fiancé. And apparently, they were in a relationship for a really long time before they eventually broke up three years ago.
Then, in the wake of their split, her stepsister swooped in and started dating Alex.
And her stepsister’s new relationship is actually what brought her and Nick back together.
Apparently, after her stepsister and Alex got engaged last year, her stepsister kept trying to get both of their families together.
“Which meant that I started seeing Nick again, and we reconnected,” she recalled.
Then, two months ago, she and Nick wound up getting engaged. But ever since, she claims that her stepsister has not stopped complaining about her relationship.
Apparently, her sister thinks that she is rushing into an engagement just in an attempt to steal the spotlight.
Her stepsister also admitted to not wanting the same in-laws as her because her stepsister believes she will just mess everything up for the both of them.

“But it’s not like I can magically give Nick a new family,” she vented. “So I don’t get why she keeps bringing it up.”
And since she obviously finds the constant comments annoying, she has asked her stepsister to drop the topic numerous times in the past.
What irks her the most, though, is when her stepsister complains about her in front of their future in-laws!
She thinks her stepsister is doing this on purpose since things between her and Nick’s family are still a bit rocky.
Regardless, the last time her stepsister tried to do that, she decided to shut it down once and for all.
More specifically, after the complaints started, she suggested that her stepsister just cancel the wedding. That way, they would not have the same in-laws.
Her stepsister seemingly did not get the point, though, and only became more triggered.
“And now, she’s convinced I only got engaged as some big master plan to mess up her engagement, which is dumb,” she revealed.
Since then, her stepsister has also spread that rumor to everyone in their family. So, some of her family members have even started to believe her stepsister!
Her fiancé’s brother, Alex, is also pretty angry with her now, too– because apparently, her stepsister was able to convince him that she was being serious.
And quite frankly, that upsets her– especially since she and Alex were actually quite close.
So now, she’s been left wondering whether suggesting that her stepsister cancel her wedding was the wrong way to deal with her stepsister’s constant complaining.
Do you think her stepsister should care so much about them having the same in-laws? Regardless, is there anything they can realistically do about this reality? Was it appropriate for her to suggest her stepsister cancel her wedding? How could she have handled this better?
