She’s No Longer Allowing Her Sister To Visit Her This Summer Because Her Sister Berated Her For Over Two Hours And Claimed They Were Always Just Friends, Not Real Sisters

This 35-year-old woman is French and has been living in Canada for the past six years. And nearly every year, she returns to her home country to visit her sister’s family.
This summer, however, her sister was finally supposed to visit her for the first time.
Now, normally, she would be super excited because she always thought she had a great relationship with her sister.
“She was the first person I wanted to see, the most important person in my life. We used to text and Facetime several times a week,” she recalled.
But, after she visited her sister’s home for four days last August, all of that changed.
She detailed how just one hour after she arrived to see her sister and nephews, her sister began complaining about how she had behaved during their last visit.
More specifically, her sister was apparently angry that she did not prepare lunch for her sister’s husband one afternoon.
Understandably, she was shocked that her sister had remained so upset about that and proceeded to keep her feelings a secret for a whole year.
So, she voiced her surprise to her sister, but her sister claimed to have wanted to have the conversation in person.

But even after they had the conversation, things were still tense between them for the rest of the trip.
In fact, her sister apparently made her feel really unwelcomed and even stayed out very late each night.
While she was hurt by her sister’s actions, though, she still stayed at her sister’s home because she really wanted to spend time with her nephews.
However, by the third night of her stay, she decided it was time to have a serious conversation with her sister– because she had a gut feeling that her sister’s animosity was much deeper than the lunch incident.
And unfortunately, once she actually approached her sister, her concerns were validated.
“She spent two and a half hours listing everything that she did not like about me, my behavior, my life choices, my personality,” she revealed.
“I was sobbing for the most part and unable to answer, but she kept on going, unfazed.”
Her sister’s list spanned all the way back to when she was just 5-years-old and refused to play with her sister.
Then, she found out that throughout their teenage and college years, her sister only ever viewed her as a friend and not a real sister.
Now, she was confused by this because when her sister got married, she was asked to officiate the wedding. Plus, she was even asked to be her nephew’s godmother!
It is becoming clear to her, though, that her sister was just extremely disappointed that she chose to remain in Canada.
“And I believe that she started resenting me when she realized I was not coming back to France,” she explained.
On top of that, her sister called her out for other things like simply trying to communicate in their relationship.
For instance, her sister claimed that she was “way too happy” when she shared news about her promotion at work and how she wasn’t struggling financially anymore.
Plus, her sister claimed that she shouldn’t call home that often. Instead, she got told that she actually needed to wait for her sister to approve a phone call via text before actually picking up the phone and dialing!
Anyway, once her sister was done berating basically her whole life, her sister reportedly felt much better.
Then, her sister even claimed that they could start fresh and finally have a “real” sister relationship.
But obviously, she always thought they were already “real” sisters. So, ever since finding out what her sister really thought, she has felt as though their entire relationship was a lie.
This caused her to be both sad and angry throughout the rest of her vacation– because she didn’t understand why her sister never spoke to her sooner and only brought up these issues during her only break of the year.
That’s why, when she saw her sister on the last day of her trip, she admitted to being really upset about their conversation.
“And that even though some remarks made sense, some of them were just mean,” she added.
Finally, she told her sister that since it was clear she was unliked, her sister was not invited to visit her this summer anymore.
But to her surprise, this actually seemed to really hurt her sister. And ever since that conversation, her sister has refused to talk to her.
So now, she’s been left wondering whether rescinding her sister’s invitation was justified or just a jerky thing to do.
How would you feel if your sister claimed you were always just friends? Why do you think her sister had so much bottled-up anger toward her? Does it seem like her sister might have just been jealous of her life? Regardless, did she have a right to rescind the invitation after being treated like that?
