Her Mother-In-Law Asked Her Husband For $15,000 To Allegedly Go On Vacation, But Then She Exposed Her Mother-In-Law For Lying

Family members borrowing money can turn into something very messy and stressful.
One woman had to put her foot down after her husband continually gave his mother large sums of money even though she wasn’t financially struggling.
She’s 33 and married to her 31-year-old husband, Matteo. They’ve been together for three years and got married four months ago.
When they first started dating, she noticed that Matteo’s mom would call him up and ask him to send her money.
It wouldn’t be a light loan of $20 or something like that. Instead, his mom would ask him for thousands of dollars.
“He told me that she had been doing it for years, but he didn’t care because he had a high-paying job and had the disposable income to give her money,” she said.
My father-in-law is a successful businessman in his city, and I was told that they had joint accounts, so I always found it a bit odd that she asked her son for money.”
When she and Matteo got engaged, she told him about how she was uncomfortable with the large amounts of money he gave his mom when she didn’t seem to need it to survive. She encouraged him to end it, and he began refusing to give his mom money.
However, a few days ago, his mom started calling him for money again. She recently called Matteo and asked for a whopping $15,000 so she could go on vacation.

After he told his mom no, she sent her a long text message, telling her she had no right to get involved in their mother-son relationship.
“I didn’t respond,” she recalled.
“I asked my husband if his parents were having money troubles, and he said that everything is fine as far as he knows.”
Recently, she and Matteo had lunch with his father and younger sister. She asked her father-in-law if everything was going alright at home, and he seemed confused about her concern. That’s when she told him all about the phone calls Matteo had been receiving from his mom.
As it turns out, Matteo’s father had no idea she had been taking money from their son because she had been receiving it in cash.
On top of the money she was getting from Matteo, she also took money out of their joint bank accounts a few months ago and said it was to help pay for her and Matteo’s wedding.
This was a lie, as they hadn’t received a penny from her for their wedding.
Her father-in-law left their town immediately and headed home to confront his wife. Later, her mother-in-law called her and told her she had a big mouth and had ruined her life by exposing her secrets.
“My father-in-law wrote us a check to pay us back and is temporarily separated from my mother-in-law until he feels he can trust her again,” she added.
They later found out that her mother-in-law confessed to using the money to buy lavish gifts for her friends and was helping some of them pay their rent.
Unfortunately, she’s now receiving a lot of contempt from some of Matteo’s family members.
Did she do anything wrong by telling her father-in-law about his wife’s money borrowing, or was she right to bring it up?
