Her Brother’s Girlfriend Insulted A Housewarming Gift She Made All On Her Own, But Then Acted Upset When She Didn’t Make Her A Handmade Present Because of It

For two years, this 17-year-old girl has loved pottery.
Over the last year, she even won two pottery competitions, so she obviously is quite skilled.
She has three older brothers, and all of them are in relationships. Two of her brothers (the two younger brothers of the three) moved in with their girlfriends not too long ago.
“As a housewarming gift, I made them a vase, a set of two cups, and saucers. I put a lot of work into those gifts, and they are personalized based on my sisters-in-law’s favorite colors and designs,” she said.
Her brothers and their girlfriends were thrilled and very appreciative of the gifts. One of her brother’s girlfriends asked if she could make something for her sister, and she said she’d pay her for it.
“Both times, my oldest brother’s girlfriend made snarky comments about how my gifts were cheap and ugly,” she explained.
However, she pointed out that she is still in high school and doesn’t have a job.
In response to her brother’s girlfriend’s rude comments, she told her that she put a lot of hours into making these gifts. But her brother’s girlfriend then said that it would’ve been a better idea to just give them cash instead, and she added that the amount of time she spent making something doesn’t really matter.
Understandably, she was hurt by this, and her other sisters-in-law stood up for her and said they loved the gifts she made for them.

This past week, her oldest brother and his girlfriend moved in together, and they invited her and her family over to their place for a housewarming party. She didn’t want to go, but her parents told her that she had to. Feeling anxious, she later agreed to go.
After her brother’s girlfriend insulted the gifts she’d made for her other brothers and their girlfriends, she obviously didn’t really want to make them a gift.
Her mother said that she should, but she reminded her mother of how cruel her brother’s girlfriend had been.
In the end, her mother said that they would say the money that she and her husband were going to give them was also from her.
But she still made something for them: she made a photo album and included photos of them in it, and also bought them scented candles.
At first, the housewarming part was going smoothly. Then, her brother’s girlfriend started opening their gifts.
“When she saw my gifts, she looked disappointed. She asked where the cups and saucers were. She really looked forward to seeing which colors and designs I chose for her,” she shared.
In response, her father reminded her brother’s girlfriend of how she’d insulted the cups and saucers she’d made for her other brothers and sisters-in-law.
But her sister-in-law claimed it was unfair that she didn’t make them for her, too.
The argument got more and more intense, and her brother eventually said he was sorry as she and her family were leaving.
Her brother’s girlfriend was furious that he said sorry on her behalf. After the ordeal, her father said she definitely shouldn’t ever make anything for her brother’s girlfriend after how mean she’d been.
Do you think she did the right thing by not making her sister-in-law the same gifts she’d given to her other sisters-in-law?
