This 23-year-old woman is getting married in just a couple of days, and her 26-year-old maid of honor, M, was in charge of planning her bachelorette party.

It’s worth noting that she did fully expect her bachelorette party to be a surprise, by the way. So, they all do live in a major city, but they don’t live in the downtown area.

She figured her maid of honor would rent a hotel room for them in the downtown area of their city, and then they could have an exciting night out before perhaps doing brunch the next day.

Many of the girls in her bridal party live very close by, though two girls did have to fly in for her bachelorette party.

“When M picked me up 2 weeks ago on Friday, I was excited to see where we were going and what we were doing,” she explained.

“We ended up going to M’s 1 bedroom townhome and spent the whole weekend there. There are 8 of us, so it was cramped, and we kept running into issues with only 1 bathroom. On Friday night, we had games and ordered pizza; Saturday we had a mimosa bar, went shopping, ordered food, and watched a movie before parting ways on Sunday.”

“It wasn’t the bachelorette party of my dreams or a particularly fun weekend, but it was ok, and I appreciated it.”

A weekend ago, her 32-year-old fiancé got back from a trip he had to take for work, and she never got a chance to tell him about how her bachelorette party had gone.

But after he arrived back home, she was able to fill him in. As she shared the details with him, he looked puzzled but didn’t say anything to her.

The very next day, M sent her a text asking if they could meet up in person, as she had something to discuss with her.

She agreed to meet M, and then M confessed to her that her fiancé had given her a lot of money over a year ago so that she could use it to plan her bachelorette party.

“It would have been enough to pay for the entire bridal party to do a week-long vacation out of town, including airfare, hotel, food, drinks, and fun,” she said.

“I wasn’t expecting this type of event; a weekend downtown would have been wonderful, and even though the party at her home wasn’t what I hoped for, I was fine with it because I got to be with all of my friends. She, instead, used the money to pay off credit card debt and hoped that no one would notice.”

She informed M that she needed a bit of time to begin to understand what she had done, and she went back home.

She later on talked this all over with her fiancé, and they both came to the conclusion that she should remove M from her bridal party completely.

She no longer thinks she can trust M ever again for essentially stealing her bachelorette party money, and she has no interest in having M stand next to her for such a special day.

Although she knew in her heart the best course of action, she slept on her choice, then sent M a text informing her she would no longer be her maid of honor this past Monday.

“Since then, I have been getting texts from her mom and boyfriend telling me how awful I am for doing this since I didn’t need a big party and M was able to financially benefit,” she continued.

“My mom is also against removing her from the wedding, as she’s like a sister to our family, and it would be tragic for me to get married without M there. The rest of the bridal party is split, with half saying I shouldn’t have kicked her out and the other half agreeing with me.”

M has also phoned her up in tears, as she already has the dress that she and her fiancé paid for, and she can’t wear it to any other event.

Right now, she just wants to hurry up and get her wedding over and done with so she can leave and enjoy her honeymoon.

She’s left wondering if it was mean of her to kick M out after finding out what she did with the money for her bachelorette party.
