Her Sister-In-Law Kept Berating Her For Being “Cheap” After Finding Out Her Christmas Gift Budget, So She Bought Something Annoying For Her Sister-In-Law’s Kid As Revenge

This woman is currently married, and after she and her husband had children, they decided that it would be best for her to become a stay-at-home mom.
After all, the cost of childcare is astronomical, and her former career as a pre-K teacher would have barely covered the price of a good daycare.
Since transitioning out of work, she’s been loving being a stay-at-home mom, too. She has also learned to budget very effectively since her family is living on only one income now.
“I typically do the Christmas shopping for both my husband’s family and mine,” she added.
“And I like to get it done before Thanksgiving so I can enjoy the season without stressing.”
This year, she and her husband also set what they thought was a reasonable gift budget for her 10 nieces and nephews.
They decided to spend between $25 and $30 on each child, and she really took her time couponing, finding deals, and considering what each kid would love to receive.
However, after she was done Christmas shopping, she heard from her sister-in-law, who claimed to have spent $100 on her child.

Her sister-in-law also said that if they didn’t “spend accordingly” on their gifts, then she would take back her child’s gift and return it!
“This sounds ridiculous, I know,” she admitted.
“But my sister-in-law is really big into gift-giving, and this is not unusual for her.”
Regardless, she told her sister-in-law that she’d already finished Christmas shopping for all the kids. She also shared how much she spent on the presents and claimed to think that the gift she bought for her sister-in-law’s child was a great present.
Well, her sister-in-law refused to accept that and proceeded to berate her for weeks– making nasty remarks about how she was grinch-like, cheap, and didn’t love her sister-in-law’s child!
Her sister-in-law also pointed out how her husband had received a generous Christmas bonus at work, insinuating that they could afford to purchase the kids better presents.
“And we can, but we were going to put that money towards my husband’s car payment,” she explained.
“Also, my sister-in-law’s kid is 1 year old and is more likely to enjoy playing with the wrapping paper and ribbons than an actual expensive gift.”
Still, her sister-in-law wouldn’t stop badgering her for weeks, and after a while, she finally had enough.
So, she spoke with her husband and decided to spend $100 on a new gift for her sister-in-law’s kid. But she purchased the loudest and most annoying drum kit and piano set that she could find.
She even went ahead and assembled the gift already, so there would be no way for her sister-in-law to return it.
“I know my sister-in-law loves to sleep in, and there is absolutely no way she will be able to continue to do so with these obnoxious toys in her house,” she revealed.
She is a bit worried that her other siblings will discover that she spent a much higher budget on her sister-in-law’s child.
“But honestly, the revenge might be worth it,” she said.
However, before she goes through with her plan, she can’t help but wonder if gifting her sister-in-law’s child the obnoxious present just to make a statement about the ridiculous Christmas budget would really be a jerky thing to do.
Do you think her sister-in-law was out of line for making so many rude comments about her gift budget? Was buying the extra loud gift for her sister-in-law’s kid too petty or warranted, given what happened? How would you have handled this situation?
