Most people scroll Zillow for dream houses they'll never be able to afford, but TikToker Madyson Foster (@madysonfoster) used it for something much more creative.

She had a bone to pick with the people who lived behind her mom's house. The owners never took care of their house or mowed their lawn.

The grass always grew wild, and the owners hardly ever lifted a finger to do something about it.

Well, the house is currently for sale, so Madyson came up with a clever way to get the owners to take responsibility for once. She found the owner's phone number on the Zillow listing and called them about her interest in the house, posing as a potential buyer.

Casually, she asked if the house was abandoned because the yard was overgrown, and it looked like no one lived there. The subtle shade must've hit home because after 20 minutes had passed, Madyson heard the sound of a lawn mower start up.

When she looked out the window, she saw the owner had finally gotten the hint and was out back mowing the grass. Madyson's mother was embarrassed by her, but Madyson thought it was pretty resourceful of her.

Many TikTok users had a field day with her strategy, praising her for being both clever and petty. Sometimes, all it takes is a little creativity to solve a neighborhood problem.

Others also shared their surprise at homeowners not putting in the effort to care for their homes.

"Bf and I are looking at houses right now. It amazes me how many posts on Zillow show houses that look abandoned or the inside is filthy because they didn't bother to clean. Like, are you trying to sell your house or not??" commented one user.

"Two days before we closed on our house, my husband's grandmother called the listing agent, saying she saw a house with their sign, and the yard looked awful. They mowed it that day," shared another.

"Where I used to live, the township is supposed to cut the grass and bill the homeowner if it gets too long. Instead, they just kept calling the homeowner, so he took care of the grass by setting the lawn on fire. Problem solved, I guess," chimed in a third.
