One time, someone broke into TikToker Amanda's (@amandakabdebo) apartment, so of course, she called the cops. She heard four of the cops talking about how the intruder had ransacked her room and interrupted the conversation to clarify that the intruder had never entered her room.
All four of the cops led her to her room and showed her the room's disarray. They pointed at the pile of laundry and other clutter, questioning if she had made the messes.
She had to tell them it was all her doing.
"I'm still really freaked out from the intruder, and this man is just literally pointing out my laundry," stated Amanda. "Whatever, it's really embarrassing."
As the cops were leaving, Amanda's friends came to check on her. Her friends overheard them making fun of Amanda's room and laughing to each other about how they didn't believe that anyone broke into her apartment.
In addition, Amanda recalled that the 911 dispatcher had also been terribly rude because she told Amanda to speak up, even though she was whispering so the intruder wouldn't hear her.
When Amanda shared her story on TikTok, many people flooded the comments section with their own cringeworthy encounters with cops misinterpreting their messy living situations.
"One time, my car got stolen, and when the cops found it, the person had cleaned out my car and gassed it up. All that was left was half of a sandwich, and the cop was like, 'We're going to take this in for DNA,' and I said, 'No, that's mine,' and he said, 'But it isn't even in a container,'" commented one person.
"My car was broken into, and just a couple of items were taken. The cop asked if I was living out of it. No...I'm just gross," shared another.

"I had a peeping Tom and literally saw the guy looking in my bedroom window, and the cops came in my entryway and saw my laundry piled up and said, 'Is this all your laundry?' Like dude!! Not why you're here!!" exclaimed a third.
"My car got broken into one time when I was at the lake. I had put my purse, a bunch of cash, and my laptop. My car was so messy, they definitely gave up and didn't find it," wrote someone else.
