When TikToker @paranormalparalegal was 18 years old, she rented a haunted place with her boyfriend at the time, and it was located right down the road from the house she grew up in.
There was a large field behind the house on the edge of the property for horses to graze in. One day, she let her boyfriend talk her into watching an old horror movie, which was a huge mistake.
“I was traumatized by the movie and have not watched it ever again,” she said. “But he was not fazed. He fell asleep, left me alone to be afraid. We even watched it in the middle of the day. I was very creeped out.”
Back then, they had a sound system hooked up to the stereo. She turned the volume all the way down at a really scary part of the movie, when the possessed character was chanting some stuff.
However, the stereo continued to play the character’s voice. Terrified, she walked out of the house and started praying in the horse field.
Then, she heard some male voices humming and chanting in unison. The sound seemed to be coming from the wooded area on the edge of the horse field.
She tried to wake her boyfriend and make him go outside to listen to it, but he couldn’t be bothered. Many more strange occurrences took place in that rented house.
For instance, one of her cousins spent a lot of time with her there and witnessed objects moving around. Their movement could not be explained except by ghosts.
Several TikTok users detailed chilling accounts about their own paranormal experiences in the comments section—the kind of stories that make you want to sleep with all the lights on.

“Girl, I have heard weird male voices in unison at a friend’s house when spending the night after watching True Blood. It was terrifying. She told me the next morning she has heard it many times before. When I heard the voices, I prayed aloud, and it stopped. That friend told me she thought she and her mom opened a portal to something bad back when she did witchcraft,” shared one user.
“I never hear sounds, but a couple of times, I have woken up to a man in all black, like a shadow figure with a hat, just standing there looking at me. And I can never move or wake myself up, but I know I’m dreaming. I always get so scared, still to this day, I don’t know who he is or what he wants,” commented another.
“Everyone thinks I’m crazy, but I refuse to watch stuff like that in my house because I feel like spirits attach themselves to the movies,” added someone else.
