One night, TikToker @puffpuffpaschal was sleeping when her peaceful slumber was interrupted by her dog needing to go to the bathroom at 2:45 a.m., which was somewhat out of character for him.
She expected a quick trip before heading back to bed, but when she let him outside, he started barking aggressively. That’s when the night took a turn.
Curious and a little uneasy, she checked her doorbell camera and saw a car sitting outside her house. She didn’t recognize the vehicle, and there was no one in it.
All of a sudden, two men ran down the street with their hoods on and trash bags in their hands. They headed straight to the car parked in front of her house.
She figured that they had just robbed someone nearby and that she would just go back to bed once they made a quick getaway. However, they did not leave.
Instead, they got out of the car and went up to the gate in the front yard of her home. She hid in her closet, quivering with fear, and called the police.
The 911 dispatcher told her that an officer was on the way and then hung up the phone.
She was convinced that she was going to die. Time stretched on, and every noise felt amplified. For the next hour and a half, she called everyone in her contacts list, hoping someone would answer so that she could say her last goodbyes.
No one picked up the phone because it was so late at night, leaving her completely isolated in what felt like a life-or-death moment. She decided to sit in her car while she waited for the police to arrive.

When the police got there, they weren’t very helpful. They made her feel like almost getting robbed wasn’t a big deal at all, and they only did a cursory check around the area.
Afterward, she went back inside feeling shaken, exhausted, and a little embarrassed, as if she had overreacted. Eventually, she fell asleep and was woken up again by the sound of her dog throwing up on the floor.
She cleaned up the puke and returned to bed, only to be awoken once more to her dad calling her.
She answered the phone and told him everything that had happened during the night. He told her that while she was getting robbed, her aunt had passed away.
In the comments section, several TikTok users expressed their thoughts on her chaotic night.
“I’m so sorry; that’s terrifying, and I’m sorry you lost your aunt the same night,” wrote one user.
“That’s crazy across the board. Dispatcher should not have hung up. Police should have cleared your home. I would be making reports/complaints for everyone,” commented another.
“Literally, the cops in the part of Florida I’m from. Sorry for everything that’s happened to you,” added someone else.
