The other day, TikToker Jess (@jess2impress) was coming home from running errands with her daughter. On the way home, she saw a little boy playing down the street.
She had never seen this kid before. He was dressed like an adult woman, which she thought was strange. He was wearing cut-off denim shorts with a flannel shirt tied around his waist.
Once she pulled into her driveway, she got out of the car to unload her stuff. Her daughter was asleep in the backseat. When Jess turned around, she found the little boy standing right behind her, just staring at her.
He tilted his head to the side and didn’t say anything. Jess stared back as he slowly approached her. Then, without making a sound, he mouthed the words, “Can I help you?” She quickly said no.
Her friend, who was on FaceTime with her, immediately told her to get back in the car because something seemed off. After she refused his help, the child skipped away down the street.
“I’ve never seen this kid before,” said Jess. “We’ve lived here for three years, and I’ve never been approached like that in such a weird way. Now I realize this could be nothing, but again, I’m overly cautious as a girl mom, as a mom in general, really.”
She got back in her car and texted her husband to come out and help. When she looked back down the street, the child was gone. While she was waiting, a car drove by and stopped near her driveway. She made it obvious that she was aware of the car watching her. The car sped away.
Her husband came out, and they quickly went inside and locked the doors. Once they were all safe in the house, she explained what had happened.
She’s not sure that the child was actually a child at all. The individual didn’t exactly look like a kid, but they were small and shaped like a kid.

“I can’t decide if it was a child or an adult passing for a child or if it was even a human in general because it was such an odd experience,” said Jess.
She asked the neighbors if they knew this kid, but no one had noticed anything out of the ordinary. Jess is grateful that they will be moving away in a few months. Hopefully, the family can leave this incident behind them.
In the comments section, many TikTok users praised her for being vigilant and agreed that something wasn’t right.
“When it comes to your safety and your child’s, it is never a mistake to be extra cautious! You did the right thing!” exclaimed one user.
“I’m so glad I’m not the only mom who’s seen weird vehicles, etc. I have random cars slow or even almost pull in my driveway, but then leave and drive by numerous times. Then, it’ll be a different vehicle. I live out in the middle of nowhere with the only houses near me being family,” shared another.
“It doesn’t matter where you live. You always have to be aware, even in your own driveway. Glad you are all safe!” added a third.
