A couple of years ago, TikToker Alyssa (@alyssaveloz_) boiled her husband’s phone while he was sleeping because she was really mad at him and wanted him not to have a phone.
They were going through one of the many periods where he didn’t have a job, but she did, so she had to take care of everything. During his free time, all he did was watch movies and talk to other girls. He only spent about five minutes per day on job hunting.
Alyssa was fed up with him. So, she decided to exact revenge on him by stealthily breaking his phone, knowing that he would be unable to afford another one. She was the one paying for their phones anyway.
One night, while he was sleeping, she snuck his phone away from him. He slept on the side of the bed near the window and kept his phone on the windowsill.
If she reached over him to try to grab his phone, he would wake up and figure out what she was doing. Instead, she went outside with some extra-long tongs and used them to snag his phone through the window.
“Once the phone was in my possession, I sprinted to the kitchen, put a pot of water on to boil, and once it was boiling, I put the phone in there,” said Alyssa.
“While the phone was boiling, I went and made a little ice bath in a bowl because if he were to grab it randomly, I don’t want him to be like, ‘Why is it on fire?'”
She was having so much fun that she almost added seasonings to the pot. When the Apple symbol on the phone disappeared and wouldn’t turn back on anymore, she decided the phone had been boiled beyond repair.
She used the tongs to fish the phone out of the water, ran back to the bedroom, placed the phone in the bowl of ice, and left it there for 20 minutes.

She carefully dried the phone off with a towel and shook it to get all the water out. Then, she went back to sleep. She slept soundly because she didn’t have to worry about what he was doing on his phone.
When she finally woke up the next morning, the kids were messing around with his phone. Later in the day, the phone came back to life. Somehow, it started working again. Alyssa was flabbergasted.
The next night, she followed the same routine of boiling his phone. This time, the phone was gone for good. There was no visible physical damage to the phone, so he would never know why it stopped working unless she told him.
A month later, she confessed, and he called her a “witch with a cauldron boiling his phone.”
