When your childhood is shaped by hauntings, such experiences can follow you all the way into adulthood, imprinting deeply on memory.

TikToker @ladimehmeh shared a chilling story involving ghosts suddenly making appearances in the dark.

A rapper named FTG 40 grew up in a haunted house in Flint, Michigan. He was the middle child of seven siblings. With that many kids under one roof, space was tight. He shared a room with a few of his siblings. The room contained a closet with a swinging door.

At night, when the moonlight shone through the window, they could see dark figures in the closet. He and his younger brother would always see an old man wearing a suit and tie emerge from the closet.

This frightened them so much that they would run to their mom's room to tell her that there was a man in the closet. The man did not have hair on top of his head, only around his head, so they called him the "clown man."

"They noticed whenever he came out of the closet, that he would be walking kind of stiff, and he would be holding his face," said @ladimehmeh.

He never made any noise, so he would appear without warning, which made him even scarier. Despite their fear, their mother always remained calm and reassured them that the man wasn't going to hurt them.

Years later, when he and his younger brother were in their early twenties, they brought up the weird clown man to their mother. That was when she sat them down and told them a story about their grandfather.

She explained that their grandmother had accidentally killed their grandfather by throwing hot grease in his face. He died in his suit and tie and was buried in the same outfit.

So, that was why he consistently showed up wearing a suit and tie and holding his injured face. The revelation was validating but also deeply unsettling.

Someone else shared a similar experience from their childhood in the comments section: "I lived in Flint until I was age five, and I remember one of the houses we lived in was haunted. A little boy would ride his bike around my room at night, and my body would lift in the air some nights and spin around."

Others in the comments section had not been aware that hot grease could kill a person. They also pointed out that the tragedy didn't seem accidental at all. According to @ladimehmeh, hot grease can cause airway trauma and negatively affect the respiratory system when thrown in the face.

Perhaps the grandmother had only been trying to inflict some damage and hadn't meant to take it that far. We will probably never know the truth, but it ultimately led to the grandfather haunting his own grandkids.
