This 23-year-old woman and her boyfriend, who is 22, met over New Year’s and have been only dating since earlier this year. However, in just that short time, she has already encountered a ton of drama surrounding her boyfriend’s girl best friend, Lucy.

For context, she and Lucy were actually sort of friends back in the day. They got to know each other at a few parties and apparently hit it off.

On one occasion, she even helped Lucy after an uncomfortable encounter with a man. She bought an Uber for Lucy; that way, the girl could go back to her home at 4:00 a.m. instead of sleeping in an uncomfortable situation.

But aside from that, she and Lucy never spoke daily or anything. They really just saw each other whenever they went out.

Her boyfriend, on the other hand, had been friends with Lucy for three years. And around New Year’s, they apparently got into a fight that caused their friendship to “sizzle out.”

It was just shortly after that period that she and her boyfriend began dating, too. However, it appears that her boyfriend and Lucy’s friendship drama has still been interfering with her romantic relationship.

It all began when she and her boyfriend went out to a club with their friends one evening.

Eventually, everyone decided to head to a second club– which was decently far away. So, she purchased a taxi that was extremely expensive in order to take them there.

“I was already upset with the cost, but I wanted my boyfriend to be happy,” she recalled.

So, they hopped into the taxi, but then her boyfriend suddenly hopped out. Afterward, he returned with Lucy and another girl, Tara– who she claimed practically appeared out of thin air.

At that point, she was surprised because she had no clue anyone was joining them. Plus, Lucy and Tara didn’t even bother to say hello or thank her for the taxi. Rather, the girls just started questioning where they were traveling to.

She tried to explain how they were heading to a different club in order to see some other friends. However, Lucy and Tara reportedly began to complain about that and claimed they just wanted to go back to the original club.

That’s why she wound up suggesting that the two girls just get out of the taxi and hail a cab back– because if they waited, it would be really expensive to travel from the second club.

Lucy and Tara did not respond to her suggestion, though. Instead, Tara just made a snide remark, saying, “It would be nice if I didn’t have a problem with someone here.”

She was genuinely confused by that comment, too, and asked if Tara was referring to her. And to her surprise, Tara responded, “Yes, we have a problem,” in a pretty passive-aggressive tone.

That pushed her to become pretty upset, and she even told Tara to get out of the taxi immediately since that behavior was not appreciated. Afterward, both Tara and Lucy left, but her boyfriend was furious with her.

In fact, they even got into a big argument about the situation. Now, thankfully, they did eventually work it out. However, her boyfriend and Lucy completely stopped being friends after that situation, and she felt like it was her fault.

“I felt extremely guilty after my boyfriend grilled me and messaged Tara the next morning to apologize for kicking her out of my taxi,” she explained.

And even after that first incident was squashed, there was a second uncomfortable incident with Lucy that occurred at a birthday party.

Apparently, she and her boyfriend got invited to a friend’s birthday celebration. It just so happened that Lucy was there as well.

She also learned that her boyfriend had planned to apologize to Lucy in person. So, she decided to approach Lucy, too, since she thought that would make her boyfriend happy.

But once she actually went up to Lucy, she realized Lucy was best friends with her high school bully, Sarah.

Despite Sarah giving her a ton of trauma throughout high school, she still tried to pull Lucy aside to have a conversation. Regardless, Sarah followed anyway, so she decided to just apologize to both girls– saying she was sorry if she ever made them upset.

At that point, however, she detailed how Sarah just started lying and claiming she was actually the bully in high school.

Still, while those accusations were all false, she tried to swallow her pride and apologize anyway– just to clear the air.

But throughout this entire conversation, Sarah had been secretly recording their entire interaction on her cell phone. So, after 40 minutes of these antics, she never got anything back from either Sarah or Lucy– pushing her boyfriend to get involved and end the conversation.

“My boyfriend had also spoken to them, in which he truly believed I was an instigator and a bully to both of them,” she revealed.

“I had to prove myself with receipts, and my parents talked to him to explain how Sarah hurt me over the years. He believes me now.”

Regardless, her boyfriend and Lucy still are not friends nowadays. Last week, Lucy did text him, “Happy birthday,” but he never responded.

And in their relationship, she claimed that her boyfriend has been extremely hostile. Apparently, he started arguments with her over little things and even became upset after she “did not put enough thought” into his birthday presents.

Obviously, this really upset her, too, which is why she tried to get to the bottom of the situation. And eventually, she did get an answer from her boyfriend.

It came out that he really wanted to make up with Lucy because he did not want the girl to hate him. So, in an attempt to be understanding, she then told her boyfriend that he should do whatever he wanted.

“But to be aware of how uncomfortable Lucy made me feel by accusing me of being a bully when she has no idea what the situation was,” she added.

After she said that, though, her boyfriend accused her of making him feel like he’s “trapped” and “in a cage” because he cannot make up with Lucy. Plus, her boyfriend even admitted that he planned to make up with Lucy regardless of how she felt.

That’s why she’s now been left wondering whether her feelings about the situation are valid and how she should move forward in her relationship.

Is a relationship ever worth this much drama? How would you feel if you were in her shoes? Do you think she should continue with her boyfriend or cut it off? What would you do?
