This mom has 4 children, and her youngest child, Maria, is 15-years-old. She admits that she and her husband “spoiled” Maria “to a fault.”

She and her husband were both incredibly poor growing up, but by the time they had children, they were pretty wealthy.

So, they really wanted to give their children everything they never had when they were younger, and now she realizes that was a big error on their part.

“Maria goes to a private school, the private school she goes to has options for discounts and funding for lower-income families whose children excel academically or are seen as having high potential,” she explained.

“Maria was caught on multiple occasions bullying one of the girls who were accepted on funding.”

“And I, on multiple occasions, have tried addressing her actions in various ways, such as getting her to personally apologize, volunteering at food drives.”

“I even changed her whole wardrobe of brand named clothes out for 2nd hand and older clothes, which she somehow managed to get her friends to wear similar clothes and changed it into a little trend (at public settings and social media as she wears uniforms at school).”

Despite her intervention, Maria kept on bullying this poor girl, and this girl now wants to drop out of the private school completely.

When she found out about this, she informed the girl’s mom and dad that she was not alright with that.

She stated that their daughter hadn’t done a single thing wrong, so she offered to pull Maria out of the school instead.

She is aware that by removing Maria, the bullying of this other girl won’t die down completely, as some of the other girls were bullying her too, but Maria was the one leading the bullying.

She stuck to her word and pulled Maria from private school right after her break in March, and she then put her in public school.

Since then, Maria has whined and made a fuss every single day about having to attend public school.

Maria has also been pleading with her to put her back in private school while also swearing to no longer be cruel to the girl she bullied.

She really doesn’t care about Maria promising not to bully the other girl because Maria had plenty of chances to change her tune.

She’s not caving, and she’s reminded Maria that she lost out on the ability to go to private school as punishment.

She also pointed out to Maria that she should have changed her behavior big time while she still was going to private school, and she wouldn’t have to deal with being in public school then.

“She came home crying the other day, telling both my husband and me that she hated us for forcing her to go to that school and ran to her room,” she said.

“My husband is now doubting our decision on changing our child’s school to public school and now wants to try to re-enroll her back at her old school. I told my husband that we won’t be doing that, and she needs to learn that her actions have consequences and understand that not everyone is privileged enough to afford the luxuries we can.”

“My husband thinks we are ruining our chances at our daughter having a good education and that we already punished her enough. My husband and I both went through the public school system just fine and were able to be successful in life with the public school education, so I believe she’ll do just fine.”

Do you agree with how she’s dealing with Maria?
