His Girlfriend Decided To Google His Name, Found An Old Photo Of Him And His Ex, And Was Furious At Him Afterward

This 35-year-old guy has been dating his girlfriend, who is 25, for about eight months now. And just last weekend, he decided to surprise her with a weekend trip to La Jolla, California and rented a beautiful Airbnb.
But, after he sent a screenshot of the Airbnb booking to his girlfriend, everything went sideways.
Apparently, he had no idea that his Airbnb account still had a photo of him and his ex-girlfriend set as the profile picture.
“I created this Airbnb account nine years ago, and it was an innocent oversight. In my excitement, I sent this picture to her to show the booking and have her get ready for the weekend,” he recalled.
But his girlfriend obviously noticed the photo of his ex, and it sparked a massive fight. She thought it was unbelievable that he would send such a picture, and she even claimed that they were done.
Eventually, though, he was able to explain the mistake. And while he didn’t think his girlfriend necessarily “got over” the whole situation, she did gain a better understanding and forgive him.
That’s why, after everything cooled down, they still decided to head out to the Airbnb in La Jolla for a nice weekend.
Things were going great, too, until their final evening of the trip while they were at dinner with his girlfriend’s aunt and friend.
For context, he knew that his girlfriend had reached out to her aunt following the Airbnb profile picture incident to talk about the whole situation.

So, while they were at dinner, that conversation came up. And out of nowhere, all three girls randomly decided to start Googling his name while he was sitting right there.
Now, at first, the whole thing was a joke, and the girls were just making light of the whole situation.
However, upon actually Googling his name, his girlfriend stumbled across an old soccer group picture from 2019, and, of course, he and his ex-girlfriend were in it.
At that point, his girlfriend claimed it was his responsibility to “make sure” that there were no public pictures of him and any of his exes.
“And I get it to an extent, but at the end of the day, if there’s a Facebook group where I have no ability to go in and remove it, what am I supposed to do, you know?” he asked.
Regardless, they all wound up leaving the dinner afterward. Then, while they were driving home, his girlfriend decided to get out of the car while they were at a stop sign and actually started walking back by herself!
He was immediately shocked and actually just froze up. At that same time, his girlfriend walked away from the car pretty quickly, so he was forced to call her aunt– asking for help in contacting his girlfriend and ensuring she was okay.
Anyway, his girlfriend eventually returned to the Airbnb later that night. By then, she also apologized to him for the whole situation.
Still, he really is not sure what to think about the situation.
He knows that his girlfriend has suffered from some mental health challenges due to school and work. She also has some insecurities stemming from past relationships.
Nonetheless, he let his girlfriend move in with him in February so she could quit both school and work while working on her mental health. Plus, he believes he has done plenty to show his girlfriend how much he cares about her.
“I have had no contact at all with my ex for years now, and there’s absolutely nothing there to be concerned about,” he vented.
Was it fair for his girlfriend to get upset about the photos of him and his ex or not? Is it realistic to expect him to hunt down and delete all public photos of himself and his past partners? How would you have reacted in this situation?
