He Flipped Out On His Son’s Teacher And Made Her Cry Because She Wouldn’t Allow His Son To Go To The Nurse, So His Son Fainted In Class And Got Hurt

Growing up, did you ever see a kid pass out in school?
Some people have crazy stories about themselves or other kids fainting in school during certain events.
One dad recently flipped out at his teenage son’s teacher, who refused to listen to him and yelled at him when he told her he felt faint right before falling to the ground.
He’s 36 and has a 13-year-old son who has had issues with fainting in the past. He’s currently being seen by doctors trying to diagnose him, and some of them believe he has postural tachycardia syndrome (POTS), which causes fainting.
Over the years, he and his wife have taught his son that if he ever feels like he’s going to pass out, he should do whatever he can to keep himself safe and avoid getting injured, like getting down on the ground.
Last week, he got a call from his son’s school saying he needed to pick him up because he had fainted in class.
“When I arrived at the school, my son was holding an ice pack to his head,” he said.
“When I asked about it, the nurse told me he had hit his head when he fell. I wondered why he hadn’t [laid] down like we taught him to do. I brushed it off and decided to ask him about it later as he was still kind of out of it.”
The following day when he asked his son to explain what happened before he fainted, the story shocked and angered him.

His son was sitting in class when he began feeling faint during a lesson. He stood up to inform his teacher, and she immediately yelled at him to sit back down.
He tried again, telling his teacher he wasn’t feeling well, and she told him he didn’t look sick enough to go to the nurse’s office.
“Then, his class was doing an activity that required standing for practically the rest of the lesson,” he recalled.
“Before the activity started, my son, yet again, told this teacher that he felt like he was going to pass out and asked if he could sit the activity out. The teacher responded by yelling at him, claiming he was just being lazy and was making excuses.”
Finally, his son’s friend started worrying about him and told the teacher that he didn’t look well. The teacher yelled at both of them and accused them of trying to get out of doing their work.
Right after his son’s teacher yelled at them, his son passed out. According to his son’s friend, the teacher appeared to be in shock.
He’s been very worried about the impact this experience will have on his son, as he used to be scared to tell his teachers whenever he felt faint because he didn’t want to be yelled at. He doesn’t want his son to be too afraid to ask for help and end up getting hurt.
A few days after the incident, he arranged for a meeting with his son’s teacher and the school principal.
When he explained his son’s story during the meeting, his teacher denied everything and claimed his son said nothing during class before collapsing randomly.
He became so angry that he flipped out at the teacher, screaming at her and telling her his son could’ve gotten really hurt. Then, she started getting upset.
“I hadn’t even noticed that she’d started to cry,” he recalled.
“By that point, I was asked to leave by the principal. My wife and some of my friends think I’m in the right, but my parents and the other half of my friends think I went too far.”
Did he go too far by making his son’s teacher cry, or was he right to get so angry?
