She Doesn’t Want Her Boyfriend’s Grandma To Come Stay With Them, Because She Loves Snooping Through Their Stuff

A year ago, this woman and her boyfriend converted one of their spare bedrooms into a guest bedroom in their house.
On both sides of their families, they have family members who are unkind and don’t respect others, and they’ve agreed that these specific family members wouldn’t be allowed to stay in their guest room.
Their rule is so set in stone that they won’t even let these family members, like her boyfriend’s grandmother, stay in the guest room for one night.
His grandmother is included in this category because she judges others harshly, isn’t a nice person, wants things to be “‘her way or the highway,'” and even gets mad at people for inane things like choosing to sleep in or take a nap.
“We might have been able to see past those things, but the biggest issue is that she’s a snoop,” she shared.
“All her kids live in different states, and when she stays at one of their places, she’ll dig through their stuff to get ‘dirt’ on them and tell the rest of the family. Then she’ll give some bogus excuse for why she was going through people’s stuff in the first place.”
On one occasion, his grandmother got mad at her granddaughter for having a spicy object in her underwear drawer, even though her granddaughter is a grown woman.
When his grandmother was questioned about how she found it, she claimed that she was looking for the TV remote, which obviously appears to be a lie considering which drawer she had been searching through at the time.
Rightfully so, she and her boyfriend don’t want his grandmother staying in their guest room and running the risk of her looking through their stuff.

In a couple of months, his grandmother is visiting, and besides her boyfriend’s mother, she and her boyfriend are the only other family members who live in this state. When his grandmother visits, she often sleeps on his mom’s couch in her one-bedroom apartment.
“My boyfriend’s mom had dinner with us recently, and I guess she knew we wouldn’t be thrilled about Grandma staying at our place because she said, ‘Maybe Grandma can sleep half the week at my place and the other half at yours.’ My boyfriend and I both told her no, Grandma will not be staying at our place, period,” she explained.
After that, her boyfriend’s mom was frustrated because she wasn’t happy about his grandmother staying in her apartment for her entire week-long stay.
However, his grandmother helps his mom with bills, so she feels an obligation to let his grandmother stay with her.
Later, his mom informed his grandmother of what she and her boyfriend had said. Last night, his grandmother called her.
“His grandmother asked why she wasn’t allowed to stay at our place,” she said.
“I told her it was because she was disrespectful towards our place, and she asked me what I meant. I told her I didn’t want her snooping through our stuff, and she straight up pulled a Patriot Act on me and said, ‘Well, if you don’t have anything to hide, what are you afraid of?'”
“She must have heard both my boyfriend and I let out loud laughs after she said that because she quickly said, ‘Well, I don’t want to argue,’ and hung up.”
Then, her boyfriend’s grandmother texted him and asked if he was really going to allow his girlfriend to say that she couldn’t stay at “HIS” house, forcing her to sleep on his mom’s couch. Her boyfriend responded by sending his grandmother a link to a hotel nearby their house.
Now, his grandmother has been gossiping about them to the entire family, insisting that they must have something huge that they’re being so secretive about and hiding.
She and her boyfriend have made the decision that his grandmother is no longer allowed to be in their house without being supervised, even when their bedroom and office doors are locked.
His family doesn’t seem to be on their side. Most of his family members appear to be holding out hope that they’ll change their minds and let her stay in the spare bedroom, bringing up the fact that his grandmother is old and is part of the family.
Do you think she and her boyfriend did the right thing by not allowing his grandmother to stay in their guest room?
