She Started Crying Herself To Sleep After Discovering That Her Boyfriend Has An AI Girlfriend

This woman has been in a relationship with her boyfriend for over a year now, and they’ve never really had any issues or arguments.
“I have always trusted him, and I have never thought that he had anything to hide from me,” she said.
Yet, when they were staying at a resort for the holidays and watching a movie together, her boyfriend happened to unlock his phone, and she saw that he had an AI girlfriend app.
Now, she’d seen advertisements on social media for AI girlfriends and boyfriends before. So, she asked if it was the same app she’d seen before, but her boyfriend just got all embarrassed and covered his face.
“I teased him a bit, and he pleaded with me not to tell anyone,” she recalled.
“I told him not to be embarrassed about it as it is normal to have fantasies and want to explore new things.”
So, she promised to keep his secret “safe,” and they just continued watching their movie as usual. But, as the night went on, she started to feel uneasy about the fact that her boyfriend had an AI girlfriend.
She realizes that, obviously, the AI partners aren’t real. However, she kept comparing herself to his AI girlfriend’s appearance, wondering if she was pretty enough, and she couldn’t even sleep that evening.
After questioning her looks, she also started thinking about whether she was good enough in general for her boyfriend. She worried that she wasn’t doing enough for him and that he wasn’t really satisfied with her.

“Honestly, I even started crying myself to sleep over it. I started looking at myself in the mirror for too long, staring at myself and wondering why I can’t look like them,” she revealed.
“I know it’s stupid, but it made me feel insecure and upset.”
She wound up confiding in her friend about the issue, too, and they just told her to talk to her boyfriend about how the AI girlfriend made her feel so uncomfortable and insecure. Still, she was always just too scared to broach the topic with him, and to this day, she still hasn’t.
“And I happened to see he still had the app when I used his phone to look up directions on Valentine’s Day, so I teased him about it again– pretending like it never bothered me,” she vented.
Obviously, though, it does, and now, she’s been left wondering if getting upset about her boyfriend using AI girlfriend apps was really so unreasonable or not.
How would you feel if your boyfriend also had an AI girlfriend? Do you think it’s understandable why she’s upset or not? What should she do?
