If you’ve ever worked with kids, you know they have a tendency to do crazy things when no one is watching. During TikToker @scaredandsobbing’s very first tutoring experience, she was thrown into a frenzy and scarred for life when the kid she was tutoring did something inappropriate.

So, she started tutoring a new client, and everything was going well at first. Things quickly went downhill after the kid’s parents left to go to another room.

She bent over to grab some books, but when she turned back around, the kid was completely unclothed. She immediately faced the corner of the room and covered her eyes for another layer of protection.

“I’m like, okay, well, this is not good,” recalled @scaredandsobbing. “If the parents come back right now, all they’re going to see is me, technically a stranger, with their child, who was clothed, who is now unclothed. Does not look good on my end.”

She asked the kid to put her clothes back on. She agreed to and announced that she was fully clothed again. But when @scaredandsobbing turned back around, the girl was still unclothed.

“At this point, I’m like, I’m being set up,” said @scaredandsobbing. “She wants me in prison, and she wants me in prison for a long time.”

“I don’t know whether she didn’t like my teaching style, my face, or my overall attitude. I’m not sure what it is.”

She could not believe this was happening to her and ran out of the room in distress, afraid she would lose her teaching license.

The parents rushed in to see what was going on and reassured @scaredandsobbing that their child did this kind of thing all the time.

She wondered why the parents did not inform her of the behavior prior to the tutoring, so she wouldn’t have been so freaked out. Needless to say, she was equal parts relieved and confused.

Why had the parents left the room in the first place if they knew their child was prone to stripping off their clothes in front of strangers?

It’s certainly an effective way to get out of a tutoring session. Of course, many TikTok users had their own stories about working with children and navigating their unpredictability.

“This happened to me babysitting one time. They got so muddy in the yard, so obviously, we had to take baths, but then, the parents didn’t tell me it’s impossible to convince them to get them dressed. We ended up in princess dresses; that was the compromise,” wrote one user.

“This happened to me when I was a camp counselor. One of the kids lifted their shirt up to me, and I had to leave because no,” commented another.

“When I first started babysitting, this happened so much, and I had no idea how to react other than put my hands over my eyes,” added a third.
