After a first date with a guy who was almost the whole package, TikToker Grace Gautier (@gracegautier) is at a loss on what to do and needs advice. She matched with this guy on a dating app.
He was tall, muscular, had a successful career in sales, and had a great personality. However, there were two things that happened on their first date that made her question if he was the one.
First of all, he arrived at the restaurant before her and took the booth, so she had to sit in the chair across from him. Then, while they were making small talk, she started smelling something foul.
She sniffed her hand and her hair, trying to figure out where the smell was coming from. It turned out to be his breath. She had to subtly cover her nose with her hand the whole time.
Later, they went back to his apartment, which wasn't so bad because she was able to play with his dog and put some distance between them.
After the date, he texted her to say he had a nice time.
"If that was not a factor, I probably would have kissed him; I probably would have pursued things," Grace said.
"He's the full package, like the conversation was great, he's successful in sales, has a beautiful apartment with an insane view, has the most gorgeous dog, is 6'4" and jacked and very attractive, but his breath."
She doesn't know if she should address the issue with him or move on and tell him it's not a match. In the comments section, many TikTok users urged her to break the news about his bad breath gently in case he was unaware of it.

Some told her to write him off completely since he wasn't keeping up with hygiene. Others shared their own stories involving dealbreakers on dates.
"I once turned a guy down because in every picture he sent me, his fingernails were dirty. He even sent me a picture of him from like 10 years ago when his son was a toddler. And his fingernails were dirty then," commented one user.
"Had the booth thing happen to me recently, and it was such a turn-off, especially when I looked around, and all the girls on dates had the booth except for me," wrote another.
"I just heard about a guy who went on a date with a girl with bad breath, and he ended up telling her, and she took care of it, and they ended up getting married, lol," added someone else.
"Had this exact same problem with a guy, and my manager told me that I should have him swish vinegar, but I broke up with him," chimed in a fourth.
