Now that TikToker Eli (@eli_carbullido) is single again, he decided to take a woman out on a date to a paint-your-own-pottery place, which sounded like a fun time.
He chose a location that he thought was far enough away from the school where he taught, so he wouldn’t run into any kids that he knew.
It was also 7:30 p.m. on a school night, so why would any kids be out that late? But he ran into his students anyway, making his worst nightmare as a teacher come true!
“As a teacher, it is inevitable that you’re going to run into students out in public, and normally, I don’t mind seeing my students out in public,” said Eli in his video.
“I actually say that because I am a normal human being, but last night, I was not prepared for what was happening.”
He and his date were having a great time at the paint-your-own-pottery place. There was only one other couple in there, so it was a little quiet, and everyone was focused on painting.
The next thing he knew, Eli heard giggling coming from outside the pottery studio. He didn’t think much of it at first, but it just kept on going, so he turned around and saw the entire girls’ varsity soccer team from his school staring back at him.
Three or four of the girls on the team were in his class.
The whole team was snapping photos, pointing at him, and laughing. The following day in school, they would not stop teasing him and talking about how they ran into him on a date.

In the comments section, many TikTok users who also work at schools shared similar stories about running into students while on dates.
Also, some of his students posted the photos they took of his date in the comments!
“As a high school athletic trainer who got caught on a date by the varsity football team at a Mexican restaurant thirty minutes from my school…I’m with you. A year later, and I still hear about it,” commented one user.
“In elementary school, I ran into a teacher (married) on a date with another teacher (also married) but not married to each other,” stated another person.
“1000% what happens. My girlfriend and I are both teachers in a small town, and every time we go on a date, I am told and shown a picture of eating the next time,” wrote a third.
“I was spotted at a seafood boil place forty minutes from my school. We were on our third bottle of Soju, too,” chimed in someone else.
Why do you think students find it so jarring or hilarious to see their teachers doing normal things like dating, eating, or shopping?
