Not too long ago, TikToker Ellie Giesa (@stinkypuffmonster) went on a very awkward and interesting first date. It made her question whether her date had ever left his house.

It all started with sushi. He claimed to love it, and Ellie also loved it, so they agreed to meet up for sushi. What could go wrong?

The confusion began almost immediately. When she ordered a lychee martini at the restaurant, he asked if the lychee fruit in her drink was a shrimp.

Then, when the sushi arrived, he thought she had stuck her gum on his plate. However, the so-called gum was really just a perfectly normal dollop of wasabi.

Clearly, he hadn't actually had sushi before since he was so clueless about its basic components.

They started talking about movies and TV shows. When she asked what other movies she should watch, he gave her a blank stare.

She repeated the question, only to realize he thought she had asked him what underwear she should wash. At that point, the whole date was beginning to feel like a fever dream.

Next, she asked if he had any upcoming trips planned. He perked up instantly, saying he was going to Disney World in Orlando with his friends.

He could barely contain his excitement and proudly told her that they would be staying in a Disney-themed Airbnb with a Mickey Mouse bed.

He was also particularly thrilled about the spray tan he was getting before the trip. That was the final nail in the coffin for her. The date ended with her recommending a certain tanning salon.

"Safe to say there will not be a second date," said Ellie. "But I hope he finds his Disney princess. Just not me."

Ellie's story triggered a flood of similar stories involving clueless men in the comments section. Others joked that he might've been born yesterday and hadn't been outside a day in his life.

"I was a manager at a Japanese restaurant and saw a man on a date eat the entire edamame. His date looked so confused. He chewed so long," commented one user.

"I ordered a lychee martini once, and my dad asked me why they would put a scallop in my martini," shared another.

"I once told a guy my dream vacation would be south of France, and he responded, 'I've never heard of that; is it in Italy?'" wrote a third.

"Went on a sushi date, and the guy had said he loves getting sushi. Asked if he wanted to get edamame as a starter. He was excited and said yes. It came to the table, and he just ate the whole thing whole. Didn't know how to eat it until he saw what I did after," added someone else.
