When TikToker Mary (@mary_sam_b) was 21 years old, she went on the worst date ever with a 29-year-old man. First of all, he asked her to pick him up for their date. Upon her arrival at his place, he immediately judged her car.
Then, he asked where they were going, even though he was the one who was supposed to have planned the date. Luckily, the bar they decided to go to was only five minutes away.
At the bar, he refused to sit at a table because he thought dinner dates were stupid. He kept rubbing her back because she had recently gotten a new tattoo on her back. She had to tell him to stop because it hurt.
They started talking about tattoos since he had a full sleeve. He proceeded to lift up her shirt and expose her back to everyone in the bar. He also continued touching her weirdly, grabbing at her waist, arms, and chest.
When her pizza came out, he asked her if she was going to finish her food. She told him that, of course, she was able to finish an 11-inch pizza.
The waitress approached to give them their bill, but he didn’t bring his wallet, so she had to pay for dinner.
“This man is 29, and you didn’t bring your card to a date that you planned and have been bugging me about?” said Mary.
“So, I take him home, I’m driving him home, and he goes, wow, I thought we were going to hang out or listen to music or something. He got so…hurt.”
He then kissed her, but he was a terrible kisser, and it was altogether an unpleasant experience. As soon as he got out of the car, he realized that he had forgotten something.

She looked over at the passenger seat and saw a rectangular box. It was his garage opener that he had removed from his wall because he didn’t have keys to his place or a fob for his garage door. She had never seen someone do that before.
Afterward, she blocked him. To top it all off, she checked her wallet the next morning and realized that she had left her credit card at the bar in her haste to get away from him.
“Anyway, I think I’m not going to date for a minute because apparently 29-year-olds don’t know anything,” said Mary. “I thought older guys would know things, but they don’t.”
In the comments section, people advised her to set better boundaries and not to settle for less.
“So, you went on a date with a boy in his soft girl era,” pointed out one user.
“Normalize walking away at the first red flag and call it a night,” stated another.
“The moment he suggested you pick him up is when you should have canceled the date,” added a third.
