Dating can feel like a game sometimes. For TikToker Sam Kelly (@sam.kelly977), one date felt like she was competing in a strange obstacle course, complete with tests and lectures.
When she and this guy were first talking about going on a date, he asked her when she was going to ask him out. Sam was a little thrown off. She didn’t think he had been expecting her to ask him out. But she did anyway and suggested that they go out to eat.
He told her that he would rather not go out to eat because he did not believe in buying food for women on the first date. Sam explained that she would be paying for her own meal.
But at that point, he suggested they get coffee instead. They decided to meet up at Starbucks. When she arrived, he wasn’t there. She waited for 31 minutes. During that time, she kept texting him, asking where he was.
When he finally came in, he told her that she had passed his test because she didn’t throw a fit about him being late. He then said that he wanted an Americano.
Sam stated that she was not a waitress, and they would both have to go up and place their orders. At the counter, he looked at Sam expectantly. She ended up paying for his drink.
He declared that she had just passed his second test. He started venting about how women always expect men to do everything, like pay the bills and rent, but men receive no respect for it.
“He went into detail about his last wife and how, for her birthday, she expected him to buy her a gift, and for Christmas, she expected him to go to her family’s house for Christmas when he has his own family to think of and all this other stuff,” said Sam.
She could definitely see why his wife left him and why he was still single. Eventually, she told him that she felt a bloody nose coming on and needed to go home.

He could tell that she was making up an excuse to leave and tried to call her out. But Sam simply pointed out that he was a huge jerk and a narcissist.
She launched into an explanation about how men nowadays have become almost submissive and are not leaders.
He became really upset and spilled his coffee. He got up and walked out, but realized that he had forgotten his keys. Sam picked up the keys and handed them to him, causing him to swear at her.
The employees at Starbucks witnessed the whole scenario and told her that she was welcome to come back and get a free coffee.
