Today, TikToker Audrey (@thelifeofauds) is discussing the 35-minute date she went on in New York City. The date was at 7 p.m., and she arrived at 7:03.
When she looked to her right, she realized that a man was staring at her. It was the man she was supposed to meet. He had claimed to be six feet tall, but they were practically the same height.
He put his hand on her back to lead her inside, but couldn’t even open the door for her. When they got to their table, he scoffed at the QR code they had to scan to see the menu.
He immediately pulled out his phone to scan it, but once he saw that Audrey was using her phone to scan it, he put his own phone away.
Then, he proceeded to snatch the phone right out of her hand to look at the menu. He picked something and closed out of the menu before Audrey could even decide what she wanted.
During their conversation, he revealed that he was from San Diego, where he had lived with his ex-wife. He then made an inappropriate joke while she was pouring a glass of water.
After she took a sip of water, there was an awkward pause before he suddenly asked if she had ever slept with more than one person at once or been with any women.
She told him no. At that point, she had already finished an entire glass of water before their drinks arrived.
Finally, their drinks were served. She tried to gulp hers down as quickly as possible. She had about three sips left when he asked if she wanted to go somewhere else. She told him that she wanted to go home.

When the server came over, Audrey asked for the check. She immediately took her wallet out and put her credit card down, not wanting him to think she owed him anything. However, he didn’t even try to make a move to pay for her drink.
“I started leaving, and he’s right behind me,” said Audrey. “We get out the door, and he tries to grab my hand, which I obviously pulled away.”
“And he was like, at least we both have our umbrellas, so we can just be in the rain together and go to our next spot. Next spot? Sir, my next spot is going to be in my home, telling the internet about you because you’re horrible.”
She gave him a little side hug goodbye and went down the stairs to the train in hopes that he was not following her. In the comments section, many TikTok users shared their thoughts on her bad date.
“If it makes you feel any better, I once had a date in NYC that lasted five minutes. He was 6’4″, and I am 5’0.” He said hello, we sat at the bar, and then he said, ‘You’re the perfect BJ height.’ Date over,” commented one user.
“I went on a date so bad I picked up a shift at work,” stated another.
“I feel sadness for whatever outfit/ensemble you put together and was wasted on this man,” added a third.
