She Went Over To A Guy’s Apartment For A Movie Date, But She Was So Grossed Out By His Terrible Breath And The Fact That He Clearly Hadn’t Showered
Have you ever had to lie to get out of a bad date? Unfortunately, it’s something many of us have to do at least once as we navigate the crazy dating world.
One woman had TikTok users reeling after telling the story of the worst first date she’s ever had, one that she felt the need to escape!
April (@aprilkelechi) had people repulsed by her dating story, and it’s easy to understand why.
She had matched with a guy on the popular dating app and was looking forward to a first date with him. April understood that guys on dating apps aren’t always the people they appear to be online, but she didn’t expect things to go so poorly with this guy.
April and her date had initially planned on going to a sushi restaurant, but the weather in their area was horrible, so she suggested they do something indoors. So, April went to his apartment to watch the movie Coco.
When April’s date opened the door, she couldn’t help but feel disappointed.
“He’s not really attractive physically to me, so maybe his personality will, you know, be more attractive,” says April in her video.
She was also taken aback by his clothing. April tried to look nice and cute for their date, but he chose to wear a big, casual sweatshirt and oversized basketball shorts.
She decided to give her date a chance and went inside so they could watch the movie. As they watched, he started talking to April, and she was immediately stunned by his horrible breath. It was so bad that she gagged as she recalled the memory in her video.

Then, April’s date tried to get her to cuddle with him on the couch as they watched, telling her she could make herself “more comfortable.”
April explains in her video that she struggles with fears of not giving men what they want, so she reluctantly snuggled up to her date and let him put his arm around her.
He started playing with her hair, which made her uncomfortable, but his bad breath really took her out. She could hardly even turn her head to face him because the stench was so foul.
Then, April’s date got up to go to the bathroom. Upon his return, she couldn’t help but notice a terrible stench. After his bathroom break, her date smelled even worse. It wasn’t just his breath anymore; it was his entire body.
“He didn’t shower before, clearly,” says April.
“The breath was booming in a very bad way, and I’m thinking to myself, it can’t possibly get worse.”
But then, when the movie had ended, he quickly turned off the T.V. and leaned in to kiss her.
April sprung off the couch and told him she had to get going. She kindly hugged her date, but unfortunately, he still started leaning in for a kiss. April quickly turned her cheek, where he planted a slobbery, nasty kiss on.
After the awkward kiss on the cheek, April left his apartment. The next day, she texted him to let him know that it wouldn’t work out between them. Her date asked why, and she decided to be honest with him.
April told her date his hygiene was “not where it needs to be” and that she prioritizes good hygiene. She also told him that he could have taken the time to shower, wear cologne, brush his teeth, etc., all before their date.
Her date started coming up with several excuses, one being that since they had canceled their plans to go to a nice restaurant, he didn’t think his hygiene would be that big of a deal. She once again reminded him that hygiene was a high priority no matter what.
Then, April’s date told her he was in an online meeting for two hours before their date, which she didn’t see as a valid excuse.
April still chose to break things off with her Hinge date, and that was the end of the worst date she had ever been on.
