He’s About To Go On Vacation With His Friend With Benefits, But Now The Girl of His Dreams Is Suddenly Single And Would Like To Start Dating Him
This 27-year-old guy has been single for the last 5 years, and it’s been close to a year since he has tried to hook up with any girls.
The very last girl he did hook up with is a girl he met on vacation a year ago. He actually just booked a vacation with her for next month, and the entire trip is purely about being friends with benefits.
There is no way he could ever end up seriously dating this girl since they don’t even live in the same country.
He was kind of going back and forth about whether he should say yes to the trip, but he ultimately agreed since he’s been single for such a long time.
His flights are booked, though they have yet to decide on what hotel they would like to stay at together.
“There’s also a girl that I went on a few dates with 2 years ago, but she ended things to date someone else,” he explained.
“I had never hit it off so well with someone on a first date and was devastated when she ended things.”
“We stayed in touch as friends the past 2 years, we never hung out but texted every few months and talked on the phone a couple of times. She was who I went to when I needed girl advice.”
They have spent the past several months trying to figure out a day to hang out together strictly as friends, but he was the one having a hard time picking a day that aligned with his schedule until last week.

He finally got to hang out with her, and he was shocked when she informed him that her boyfriend had just dumped her. Now, he has told the girl of his dreams that he’s going on vacation, but he never told her who would be coming with him.
While they were spending time together, she questioned him about who was accompanying him, and he lied after panicking about what to say. He told her he’s vacationing with some friends he met last year, and although he name-dropped his friend with benefits, he lied about all the other people he told his dream girl would be going too.
He’s left feeling completely clueless regarding how to handle both girls. His dream girl is someone he has been thinking of for two years straight, and he’s positive she finally wants to date him.
They’re hanging out in a week, which he knows is going to be a date, even though they have not said that exact word.
“She’s now texting me with a lot more enthusiasm than she did when she was in a relationship,” he said.
“I don’t think I’m reading this wrong, I really think there’s a good chance for something to happen here if I want it to. But I already spent $700 on this flight, and my FWB wants us to book the hotel soon. I can’t date my dream girl AND go on vacation with my FWB. And on top of that, I’ve started the relationship by lying to her about who I’m traveling with.”
“What do you recommend that I do? Cancel the trip, accept the $700 loss, and date this girl? Take the trip anyway but make it a solo trip and not meet up with the FWB? And should I come completely clean about lying the next time I see her, or should I try to claim that the other people were supposed to come but canceled?”
