Her Fiancé Only Began Dating Her Because She Looks Like His Ex, And He Planned To Dump Her When He Felt He Got Over His Ex
Two weeks ago, this 30-year-old woman got proposed to by her 31-year-old fiancé Marcus, and she did say yes to him.
They actually met one another in their third year of law school when they were at a bar located close to campus.
“It was meant to be just a one-night stand, but we decided to take things further in the morning, and we started dating,” she explained.
Now, yesterday evening, she and Marcus had a little engagement party at their apartment, and they invited their closest friends.
The night was super fun. They all drank and discussed memories from back when she and Marcus first got together.
When the party came to an end, and everyone was cleaning up before heading out, Marcus’s friend Brian asked if he could speak to her alone.
Brian informed her that she needed to know something that he knew before she agreed to marry Marcus.
Brian then revealed to her that Marcus admitted that she looked like she could be a twin to Marcus’s high school sweetheart named Sophie. Sophie had dumped Marcus right after they graduated from college.
“Apparently, my fiancé essentially did a double take once he first saw me because he thought I was Sophie,” she said.

“Marcus only wanted to date me so he could work his feelings for her out of his system. After that happened, Marcus would dump me and wipe his hands clean of the situation.”
“One of the things that he said to Brian was that my race spoiled the fantasy a bit, but since I looked so pale, it was easier to pretend I was white like Sophie.”
She is South Asian, but she has incredibly light features, just for additional context here.
Marcus wound up actually falling in love with her in time, which ruined his crazy scheme, but Marcus did pretend for four whole months that she was Sophie and not herself.
Brian added that, of course, she can do whatever she pleases with the secret he told her, but he implored her to deeply consider whether she should marry Marcus or not.
Then Brian left, and it was suddenly just her and Marcus alone in their apartment. Marcus quickly went to bed, but she sat in their living room for the next several hours, considering Brian’s words.
When she did go to sleep, she only could sleep for three hours.
She’s desperately hoping that Brian wasn’t telling her the truth but was feeding her a lie in order to create drama.
However, there isn’t a good reason for Brian to do something like that. It would only hurt Brian more to lie to her face and then be found to be caught up in a lie.
“Besides, I looked up pictures of Sophie on Instagram and yup, we do essentially look identical,” she continued.
“We both have short dark hair, round eyes, light skin, and a long nose. I’ve always wanted to try to grow my hair out, but Marcus always said he liked me with short hair better. I feel sick over that now, knowing what I know.”
“Marcus just thinks my weird behavior is just because I have a headache. He’s out right now to get Ibuprofen from the drug store and fast food for us. I haven’t told him what Brian revealed to me yet.”
