A TikTok creator who goes by the handle @autumn.in.appalachia is sharing a spooky story from TikToker Karma, who has been dealing with a dark entity in her home.
“She said one of her biggest fears with sharing this story is that nobody will believe her because she knows how unbelievable all of this sounds, but it is a real thing that she and her family really experienced, and it’s something that Karma, in fact, is actively still experiencing today,” @autumn.in.appalachia said.
In 2022, Karma’s mom passed away due to some underlying health issues. A couple of years before her death, her mom sensed a shift in energy in their home.
They all began to notice it after that, but none of them knew why or how it happened. Whenever they walked through the home, the air felt heavy and dark. Everything just seemed weighed down.
One night, Karma was sewing a costume in her room when her mom suddenly screamed bloody murder from her bedroom. Karma ran into her mom’s bedroom to see what was wrong.
Her mom was visibly shaken. She had just been sitting in bed when she saw a tall, dark, shadowy man exit the bathroom and walk right past her bedroom door.
Karma tried her best to calm her mom down. After spending a few minutes reassuring her, Karma went back to what she was doing.
But about 20 minutes later, she heard her mom scream in panic again. She ran back to her mom’s bedroom. Again, she had seen the shadow man. Karma was standing in the doorway, and this time, she felt the presence of someone standing or walking behind her.
Karma’s dad was the only other person who lived in the house, and both women knew that he was outside at the time. She slowly turned her head and saw the shadow man darting down the hallway at full speed.

She felt sick to her stomach, and chills went down her spine. She closed the bedroom door and stayed with her mom for a few hours because they were both petrified.
A week passed without incident. One night, Karma was getting ready for a show when she heard her mom scream again. When Karma got up to run to her mom, she smelled a horrible, putrid stench.
This time, her mom explained that she saw something crawl across the ceiling toward the bathroom. It continued happening for months.
“As the months went on, her mom seemed to get physically sicker,” @autumn.in.appalachia said. “It was like whatever this was seemed to be feeding off of her vulnerability or her energy.”
Then, her mom began complaining about seeing tarantulas on her fan. One night, Karma and her mom were watching TV with the lights off when Karma spotted something crawling across the cable box. It looked just like a tarantula. It skittered across the little screen where the time was displayed on the cable box, blocking out the glow from the screen.
But when she jumped up and turned the lights on, nothing was there. Her mom’s health continued to decline until she was eventually hospitalized. A month into her hospital stay, she passed away. Karma’s dad passed away just last year.
Now, Karma and her brother are both living in the home. She is still having the same experiences, and they only seem to be getting worse.
Recently, she had a nightmare where some sort of creature told her that she was next. She has tried everything to get rid of this evil energy and doesn’t know what else to do.
