His Girlfriend Only Asked Him Out After Her Friends Dared Her To, So She’s Been Stringing Him Along For 5 Months, But When His Girlfriend’s Dad Found Out The Truth, He Grounded Her

This 18-year-old guy and his 17-year-old girlfriend have been in a relationship for the last 5 months, but prior to dating his girlfriend, he spent an entire year crushing on her hard.
Everyone knew about the crush because one of his friends went around telling his girlfriend and her friends too.
This year, his girlfriend threw a birthday party for herself on New Year’s, and she invited him to attend the party.
He was thrilled to get to go to the party, and he had a lot of fun. Several days later, his girlfriend asked if he could meet with her when school was done for the day.
“We agreed (to meet) at the park, where she confessed she had feelings for me and wanted to be a couple,” he explained.
“I was over the moon, and we began dating that day. Our relationship was pretty solid. We didn’t get into many fights, but she wasn’t all that affectionate, which I was fine with.”
Fast forward to now, they have been dating for 5 months, and his girlfriend recently came over to his house.
She was making a snack for herself in his kitchen when he noticed her phone going off. She asked that he bring her phone over to her, which he did.
But as he carried her phone over, he saw that one of her friends sent her a text asking when the breakup would be happening.

He instantly unlocked his girlfriend’s phone so he could see more of this conversation, and what he saw was heartbreaking.
His girlfriend had only asked him out with her after her friends dared her to, and she had been stringing him along the entire time.
“I read a few more messages where they were talking about a prank they pulled on me,” he said. “I confronted her about it, and she went silent.”
“After some prodding, she confessed. During her birthday, one of her friends dared her to ask me out. She got guilty when we continued dating for months upon months. It was supposed to be a one-time thing with a simple date at a restaurant.”
“They planned to hook me up with someone and frame me for cheating in the next few weeks, so she has a valid reason to break up with me. It also gave the other girls a chance to spread rumors about me. We got into a huge fight, and I told her to leave and that we are done.”
He was crushed to learn that his whole relationship was a lie, especially since he really did like his girlfriend so much.
He can’t imagine why she thought it was ok to hurt him like that. In the aftermath of his finding out the truth, he got one of his friends to come with him to his girlfriend’s house to get his things back from her.
When he knocked on her front door, her dad actually came out with his belongings, and her dad then wanted to know if he had cheated on her or something.
Her dad said that she had been sobbing in her room about them being over, and he showed her dad the screenshots of the terrible text messages between his girlfriend and her friends.
He also texted him the evidence as well. Later on, her dad called him to say that he was so sorry that her friends had been trying to bully him, and he mentioned that he was punishing his daughter for what had happened.
In the end, his girlfriend got grounded, and her dad made her delete all of her social media profiles. She also had all of her technology taken away from her.
He did additionally learn that her dad showed up at every single one of her friend’s houses to speak to their parents.
All of his girlfriend’s friends dropped her out of their friend group, and she went from being super popular to being a nobody.
At his high school graduation, his now ex-girlfriend chased him down in the parking lot, crying and trying to apologize to him right in front of his own parents.
He’s planning on going to college soon and moving on with his life.
