She Left Her Husband After He Made A $250,000 Mistake And Got Fired From His Job, But Now She’s Doubting That She Made The Right Choice

This 31-year-old woman was married to her 38-year-old husband for a year and a half but was with him for 3 years in total.
Ever since they tied the knot, things have been really tough and exhausting. She had no idea everything would be so hard, and it all boiled down to some “unforeseen circumstances.”
What happened was that her husband spiraled into a terrible depression a year ago after he made a $250,000 investment that turned out to be a total scam.
Her husband not only put money in; he so much time into this scam investment that he got fired from a wonderful job.
She does get that depression can make you not feel motivated, and her husband spent 3 months refusing to get off the couch.
But despite her best attempts to get him help through the form of therapy, medication, and rehab, he kept turning her down.
Instead, he drank from the instant he woke up until the moment he fell asleep. He spent more than a whole year drinking at home and not working at all.
It fell on her to work her heart out to “maintain” the lifestyle they lead, and she wiped out her savings in the process.
She eventually had no choice but to pick up weekend bartending shifts in order to make more cash on the side.

She does make more than $70,000 a year at her day job, but they live in a part of the country where the cost of living is astronomical. The amount of debt that she and her husband fell into kept piling up, and they thought they might lose their house. Thankfully, the bank differed the mortgage payments they owed, so they were able to keep their home in the end.
“All the while, he wouldn’t help with anything around the house or clean up after himself, so I was not only now the breadwinner but also the maid, the chef, the sole caretaker of the dog, the accountant, and everything in between,” she explained.
“Over that year+ I harbored extreme anger and resentment towards him. Explosive fights began to happen, especially because he would take no accountability or action toward rectifying the situation he had put us in.”
In time, her husband was able to get back the job he got fired from, which is in sales, but he put so little effort in that he made no commission.
On top of all of this, his drinking continued, and he totaled 2 cars, so she had to drive him to work whenever he needed to be taken there.
“My heart had become so calloused due to the resentment and anger and lack of trust that I had an intense guttural/instinctive feeling that I needed to leave him while driving home from work this past Friday,” she said.
“I packed my bags that day and left him. I have experienced so much cognitive dissonance since leaving and keep catching myself wondering if I left too soon. I am now fearful that the changes necessary for our future and the children we wanted were right around the corner.”
“He continues to beg me to come back and says he will change and do whatever it takes for me to come back, but why should I have to leave for him to do those things? I sank everything I had, mentally, physically, financially, and emotionally, into this marriage, and am afraid I left before we finally had the chance to build the life and love we always talked about.”
Do you think her husband deserves a second chance?
