This 36-year-old woman has been married to her husband, who is 32, for nearly two years. But she has always felt like she was much more invested in their relationship than he was.

She was never unfaithful, remained head over heels in love with her husband, and did everything she could to make him happy.

She even took in and raised his 4-year-old son for a year and a half after his son’s birth mother, who lived on the other side of the country, couldn’t do it.

“I gave my husband his green card, I went into more debt to support us before he got his green card, and I wasn’t able to work a legit job,” she added.

Yet, every six months or so over the past few years, she’s found out that her husband had been engaging in inappropriate conversations with multiple women. Sometimes, the communication took place over Instagram DMs or text; other times, they were pictures.

And despite the toll that the cheating took on her mental and physical health, she would still stick by her husband and take him back.

She admitted to knowing deep down that he was not being honest with her and that she didn’t truly know the man she tied the knot with. She realizes that was her mistake, too.

His latest cheating incident took place back in February. She saw conversations on her husband’s Apple Watch, and she confronted him about it.

At the time, though, her husband only partially told the truth and made it seem like he was just “virtually cheating.” He also reassured her that he would cut it out.

Still, about a week later, she continued to feel uneasy. That’s why she decided to switch their SIM cards, and text messages that were supposed to go to her husband started to flood her phone.

It was through these texts that she was able to talk to one woman, who didn’t know it was her on the other end of the phone– not her husband. Regardless, she drew information from this other woman, which led her to a shocking realization.

Her husband had an account on a steamy website in which he posted photos and videos of him hooking up with other women. The profile has been active since October 2022.

“I felt like I died that night. I had never felt so much pain in my entire life,” she recalled.

“And then… I still forgave him! We were trying to make it work. He did stop after that, but he continued to be cold and distant.”

Her husband just would not communicate or try to connect with her anymore. It was around that same time that her husband started staying over at his son’s mother’s house– who had coincidentally broken up with her boyfriend.

So, her husband claimed that he was just there to take care of his son, but she had a gut feeling there was more going on below the surface.

She was ultimately so devastated by the state of her marriage that she even decided to take a short-term disability break from work for her mental health. She also booked a trip to Arizona from June 27 to July 18 to visit her family.

Then, just before she left, she decided to put a tracker on their car.

“Because apparently, I needed to see for myself for the hundredth time if he could be honest and trusted,” she explained.

“The day after I left, the vehicle was in another state and stayed at some apartment complex for two days. I confronted him about it, and he wouldn’t explain himself. I decided then that I was done, but I didn’t tell him.”

Just a few days later, while she was out in Arizona, she also wound up meeting someone while she was out celebrating her brother’s birthday. The guy she met happened to be a good childhood friend of her brother.

So, they ultimately hooked up and spent a lot of time together for the rest of her trip. She even decided to extend her stay in Arizona by one week.

By that point, she had made up her mind about her marriage. She planned to go home, get a divorce, and start over again in Arizona. After all, she had always wanted to move there, and she had a great experience with the new guy.

“I had spent the last few years thinking that there was no one else in the world for me but my husband, only to find out that there are men out there who will treat me nice, who actually want to spend time with me, and are happy to be in my presence,” she said.

“I went on more dates in two weeks with this guy than my husband has taken me on in two years.”

So, she wasted no time once she arrived home. As soon as she saw her husband, she informed him that she wanted a divorce and claimed she had already contacted a divorce mediator for them.

At first, her husband just said okay, too. But then, he started to unravel.

She has now been home for a week, and her husband has not stopped love-bombing her with jewelry, love letters, and flowers. He’s also been saying everything she always wanted to hear.

Her husband even claimed to have been in therapy for the past two months. However, he apparently was “waiting” for her to return home from her trip so he could open up.

All of a sudden, her husband also had “explanations” for all of his sneaky behavior she caught onto through the vehicle tracker. But while she did believe her husband, his excuses did not change her mind.

When her husband asked if she had cheated on him in Arizona, she came clean, too.

“Let me show you how easy it is to be honest. Yes, I cheated on you,” she responded to him.

Regardless, her husband claimed not to care since he knew that he “deserved it.” Then, he forgave her and has been crying, throwing up, and begging for her back ever since. Her husband claims that he cannot live without her and thinks he will die if she leaves him.

She has never seen her husband cry, either, and it shatters her heart to know that he is genuinely hurting. That’s why she feels really naive for thinking she could just return home and end their marriage, and her husband wouldn’t care. Yet, as upsetting as the situation is right now, she is just done with their marriage.

“A switch had been flipped, and I decided I was done while I was away, and I’ve been trying to give a little time to allow some of the emotions to cycle through him, as this apparently came as a huge shock. But I realize that I can’t stay in the same house as him for long,” she vented.

“I’m worried about him, but I need to make moves toward my new life.”

She has since tried to pack a suitcase while her husband was at work. However, he immediately found it and unpacked all of her belongings while she was asleep. So, she now has no clue how to get out of this situation. She isn’t sure if she should just leave while her husband is not home or if she should try to tie up their loose ends as she had hoped.

Right now, her husband is just making her feel trapped, and she plans to be back in Arizona in one month. But, with her husband refusing to divorce her, she is at a loss about how to move forward.

Should she feel obligated to stay home and coddle her husband while he copes with the consequences of his actions? Or should she have no regrets about finally moving on and starting fresh in her life? What would you do in this situation?
