In March of 2021, this guy met a woman on a dating app, and one Friday night, he invited her over to his apartment.

They wound up sleeping together, and then she slept over his place. The next morning, she clearly had no intention of leaving, and she told him she wanted to spend all day watching a TV series together.

Then, Sunday morning rolled around, and she still refused to leave his place. On Monday, he was shocked when she took a laptop out of her bag and mentioned she worked from home so she could do her work that day from his living room.

“I started making excuses; she could tell I was lying and then had some kind of psychotic episode, began throwing things, breaking glasses, bottles, etc.,” he explained.

“Then she said I kept her prisoner and that she was going to call the police on me. Then she left. I was terrified and tried messaging her to try and calm her down. She eventually agreed not to report me but kept messaging me every 5 minutes. What followed were the 6 scariest months of my life.”

“She would message me in a friendly tone trying to ask me [to sleep with her], and when I said no or came up with excuses, she would write a MASSIVE wall of text saying I hurt her. I had to engage with her and reply and try to be polite, I feared that if I blocked her she would do something stupid like call the police.”

This continued for the following six months of his life, and he became terrified to check his messages on his phone, as he knew he would have at least one from her.

It took him an intense amount of time to craft polite replies to this woman, and it honestly became like another job.

She sent him an insane amount of messages on a daily basis, and he still kept up a friendly front in the hopes that if she ever did go to the police and try to pin something on him, they would see how crazy she was.

After six entire months of keeping it up, this woman began reaching out to him with less frequency, so he figured she had moved on.

Sadly, he was wrong, and after a couple of months, she ramped up the messages. She was sending him messages every five minutes.

As he turned her down, she resorted to sending him audio messages of her sobbing and carrying on.

Time went on, then she kind of calmed down and stopped with the barrages, only to go right back to the intensity and insanity.

This has now been going on for years, and last September, she told him she never wanted to sleep with anyone else again except for him and that she would wait.

A couple of days ago, she started in on sending him tons of texts, and she even complained that he isn’t enthusiastic when he responds.

“I thought that if enough time passed, she would lose interest, but it’s 2024 already, and she shows no signs of stopping,” he said.

“She has already consumed too much of my free time and energy. I want this to stop. But I’m afraid of the consequences. If I could go back to that Monday morning in 2021, I would just dare her to call the police and block her.”

“I talked to a lawyer, and he told me that’s what I should have done in the first place. I let this go on for too long, and it might be too late to block her now; she’s already invested years of her life into this and might do something stupid.”

What advice do you have for him?
