Chivalry and generosity are necessary traits to have for success in dating. However, many women often find themselves navigating the treacherous waters of a man’s penny-pinching ways.

TikToker Gabrielle (@gabrielle_madena) is one of those women, and she’s talking about a bad date with a guy whose frugality bordered on the absurd.

So, she started chatting with this guy on the phone. They talked for a week before deciding to meet up at a café.

Initially, he suggested they go to a coffee shop, but she wasn’t a fan of coffee, so they settled on the café. She got to the café first and discovered that there was a 45-minute wait to be seated.

She didn’t want to stand around awkwardly with him while they waited for a table, so they decided to move to the restaurant next door.

At the restaurant, he ordered some coffee while she asked for water. When the server came to take their food orders, he announced that he had already eaten.

She was hungry and ordered a sandwich with a side of fries. As they waited for the food to arrive, he went on and on about all his cars. He had recently bought a new sports car and showed her a picture of it on his phone.

While she was looking at the photo, a notification from his bank popped up, alerting him that $200,000 had just been deposited into his checking account.

She ignored the notification and continued trying to get to know him better. When her food arrived, he commented on how good the fries smelled.

She offered him some fries, and he dug in immediately. At first, she didn’t mind because she knew the smell of food could always make someone a little hungry.

However, he started devouring most of her fries. She asked him if he wanted half of her sandwich, but he declined, claiming that he wasn’t really hungry.

By then, she was ready to leave. She asked the server for the check and a box for her leftovers. The check was placed in front of her, and the box was set down in front of him.

He grabbed the check and handed the box to her. As she was transferring her food to the takeout container, he asked if she wanted to split the bill. She offered to cover the bill since it was their first time meeting.

He insisted on at least paying for his coffee and gave her five dollars. He pulled out five one-dollar bills, accidentally tugging $20 along with them. Then, he gracefully tucked the $20 back into his wallet.

When she looked at the bill, she saw that it came out to a total of $20.50. His coffee was four dollars.

She was mad that he hadn’t even bothered to pay for the tip but could brag about all the money and luxury cars he had.

She ended up giving their server $30 in addition to his five. After all that, he still had the audacity to pretend to be a gentleman and walk her to her car.
