Wedding planners have seen just about everything. They’re used to last-minute chaos, whether it’s missing groomsmen, cake mishaps, or weather catastrophes.
But even after years in the industry, one planner was totally thrown off by a wedding where the bride casually showed up a day after giving birth.
TikToker Amy (@amyelizabethartistry) used to be a wedding planner. She had been working with a couple named John and Kate for a little over a year, so she knew them well.
The week of the wedding, everything was going according to plan. But on the morning of the rehearsal, John texted her, asking her to call as soon as possible.
When Amy called John, he informed her that Kate was in the hospital because she had just had a baby. Amy had no idea that Kate had been pregnant this whole time.
Despite the shocking development, the couple still wanted to move forward with the wedding at the venue without changing anything. Amy immediately went into professional planning mode.
After hanging up with John, she called all the vendors involved in the wedding to explain the situation. Everyone was shocked.
They decided to make some accommodations for her. They provided comfy chairs, a wheelchair, and shortened the first dance song in case she didn’t want to do the whole thing.
The next morning, John told Amy that the baby would be staying in the hospital for a few more days, but Kate was being discharged at 11 a.m. and would be heading straight to hair and makeup.

“I’m preparing myself to see a woman who just gave birth the day before her wedding, unexpectedly, so high emotions, probably tears, probably needs a little extra pep talking,” said Amy.
“I opened the door…she’s glowing. She’s getting her hair curled, she’s got a mimosa in one hand, she’s doing great.”
Amy laid out the accommodations they had made for her, but Kate told her to undo them all. She didn’t want to be carted around in a wheelchair, and she was excited to do her first dance as planned.
The wedding went off without a hitch. It was on time, and it was the most seamless wedding that Amy had ever been a part of.
When John and Kate announced that they had just given birth to a healthy baby boy, everyone gasped. Kate ended up dancing the night away.
The next day, Amy visited them to see how they were doing. Kate explained that she had had zero pregnancy symptoms whatsoever.
She had gained eight pounds over the last year but had chalked it up to wedding stress. The baby came at 42 weeks and was over eight pounds. Kate had gotten up to go to the bathroom, but a baby came out instead.
It was one of the most unforgettable wedding stories of her career.
