TikToker @afterdarkhotline narrates real scary stories sent in by real people, and one of them is from someone who used to work as a server for private events in Hollywood Hills.
According to them, most of the parties were what you’d expect, with producers, actors, and influencers in attendance.
One night, they were hired to work at a private industry mixer where no phones were allowed. The house was massive and had a huge pool.
However, there was no music, laughter, or dancing like at a regular party. People were talking quietly and watching each other closely.
Around midnight, one of the hosts asked the server to bring a tray of drinks downstairs. They didn’t even notice there was a downstairs level until they were guided through the kitchen to a big, heavy metal door.
They knocked lightly and let themselves in. There was music playing and eerie red lighting in the room.
Fifteen people were standing in a circle. An empty chair was in the center of the circle. The group looked at the server all at once, becoming aware of their presence. A woman spoke up, saying that they were early. The server froze and stated that they were just there to serve drinks.
A man walked over, plucked a drink from the tray, and whispered to the server that they should not come downstairs without an invitation.
The server backed out of the room immediately and went back the way they came. They pulled another server aside and asked what was going on downstairs. The other server paled and told them that there was no downstairs.

When they went into the kitchen, the metal door was gone. Toward the end of the party, at around 2 a.m., someone handed the server a large envelope stuffed with cash. It was triple the amount they had been expecting. The envelope read, “Thank you for not participating.”
Since then, the server hasn’t worked a job in Hollywood Hills again. Sometimes, when they pass by the house, they can see silhouettes through the glass windows.
In the comments section, several TikTok users described their own creepy experiences at parties/gatherings in Hollywood.
“There are lots of hidden rooms, revolving bookcases, secret entrances, etc., in Hollywood. I’ve been to a few upscale parties there and left within the first 15 minutes because of the bad vibe,” commented one user.
“I lived in LA for 13 years…I’ve been approached by them numerous times. After I turned down an offer during a very intense drug-induced interrogation, 10 days later, my mom was hit by a truck while walking in a crosswalk,” shared another.
“Walked into the Clift Hotel in SF for dinner. My husband and I were led into a red room. Red lights, red booths, just red. When we walked in, the whole room put their utensils down and stared at us. We looked at each other and booked it out of there so fast,” wrote someone else.
