One time, TikToker Alexandra Jaye Weinstein (@alexandrajaye5) went on a date to a restaurant with a guy who tried to dictate what she should eat.
From the very beginning, the evening was off. She wanted to order the salmon, but he ignored her preferences and thought they should get a steak and burger and split them.
However, Alexandra didn’t eat steak. He still wanted to order the steak and burger and planned to split the burger with her. The burger situation only made things more bizarre.
Instead of ordering separately like normal people, they got stuck negotiating toppings like it was some kind of high-stakes deal. It was a cheeseburger, but he didn’t like cheese, and Alexandra refused to eat a burger without cheese, so they were at something of a stalemate.
Finally, she asked the waiter if she could have cheese on just half of the burger. The waiter left to ask the chef. When he returned, he told her that the chef couldn’t do that because the cheese was blowtorched onto the burger.
So, Alexandra had to request a slice of cheese on the side and assemble her own burger. By that point, the idea of enjoying a nice dinner had completely dissolved. A date is supposed to be a shared experience, not one person overriding the other at every turn.
The waiter came back with their steak, a burger split in half, and a plate of cheese for her. She folded up the piece of cheese and put it on her half of the burger.
When they were presented with the dessert menu, her date suggested against getting dessert because it would “make them fat.” The remark was unnecessary, judgmental, and revealed who he truly was as a person.
As they walked out of the restaurant, he asked her if her shoes were from Amazon, when she was wearing $700 Gianvito Rossi heels.

After insulting her shoes, he had the audacity to ask her for a ride home. She drove him home, and he proceeded to invite her inside. She said no and never saw him again. It was almost impressive how many missteps could fit into one evening.
In the comments section, everyone was outraged that Alexandra did not order what she wanted and that she stayed to entertain the situation at all.
“I’m annoyed that you ended up with half a burger instead of the salmon you originally wanted,” commented one user.
“I would have left when he stated he was ordering one and a half meals for himself and half a meal for me that I didn’t even want to begin with,” stated another.
“The minute he said you can’t have the salmon and insisted to split the order, I would immediately have started feeling ill and had to leave because I’m allergic to cheap!!!!” exclaimed a third.
