His Fiancée Had A Total Meltdown On A Plane And Had To Be Escorted Off, So He Pretended Not To Know Her So He Also Wouldn’t Get Kicked Off The Flight
A guy and his fiancée recently returned from vacation, and while they were actually on the vacation, everything was absolutely wonderful.
As they headed home, though, everything slowly descended into chaos, starting with what they packed to bring on the plane.
He always packs a little backpack and checks his other bags. His backpack contains everything he could need in case he can’t get to his other bags, and he could totally survive with what he puts in his backpack.
His backpack also meets all of the size and weight requirements that airlines have, so traveling is never a hassle for him.
His fiancée, on the other hand, would not listen when he told her that she shouldn’t try to bring her huge bag with them on the plane, as it clearly doesn’t conform to the carryon standards.
She packed this bag to bring on the plane anyway, and she pretty much always flies like this without a problem because airline employees don’t want the headache of dealing with the bag.
Well, on this particular flight home, the airline employee that was at their gate was not ok with his fiancée’s bag.
The flight they were about to board was absolutely full, and he and his fiancée were the last to board as they were sitting in economy.
It was already a disaster situation, and he was able to get on the plane without issue because of how small his backpack was.
As he walked away from the gate and through the tunnel to the plane, he could hear arguing coming from behind him, and it was his fiancée. As he was about to turn around and see if he could fix whatever situation was going down with her, she came running past him and hopped on the plane.
He figured whatever arguing he had heard wasn’t the whole situation and that the airline employee decided to let his fiancée get on the plane. He and his fiancée made their way to their seats and sat down. He was exhausted, and he could see that his fiancée was angry, so he pulled his hat over his face and tried to nap.
“But soon after the airline worker and a cop shows up…and want her off the plane,” he explained.
“She tries to plead and cry, etc. but they are not having it. And maybe in a moment of panic or just plain self-preservation…the cop asks if we’re together, and I blurt out, “NO!” shaking my head emphatically. I got kill dagger eyes from her as she shot up and grabbed her bag and followed the cop out. She was also swearing and screaming the whole way out.”
“Now, obviously this is well after the event I’m posting this. But when she did eventually get home (she caught the next flight out with the bag checked, lol), I was there to pick her up.”
His fiancée thought he was terrible for pretending not to know her, and so does nearly everyone in his life. The only people who are on his side are his boss and coworkers. It’s worth mentioning that he needed to make that flight and get home to help them complete an extremely important project.
His boss and coworkers were thrilled he wasn’t kicked off the flight with his fiancée. He’s left wondering if it was rude of him to pretend to not know who she was in order to make sure he could stay on the plane. If you were in his shoes, would you have done the same thing?
