A Guy On A Double Date Said Whoever Has The Least Expensive Shoes On Should Run Through The Pouring Rain To Get The Car, So Chivalry Might Be Dead

Nowadays, swiping right has become the norm, and emojis have all but replaced heartfelt love letters.
Gone are the days of genuine connection and dedication. It seems that gentlemen are going extinct as well. Of course, some are still out there, but the future is looking grim.
TikToker Lani Baker Randol (@lani.baker) is from Dallas, Texas, and she can’t help but wonder if chivalry has become a thing of the past after witnessing two guys’ reluctance to get their shoes wet for their dates.
So, she and her husband were having a date night and enjoyed dinner at a nice restaurant. The restaurant was basement-level, so there were no windows to the outside.
When they finished dinner, they walked up the stairs and opened the double doors to see that it was pouring rain outside.
Her husband told her to stay right where she was and immediately ran to get the car. While she waited for him to pull up, two other couples who seemed to be on a double date came upstairs. Just like Lani and her husband, they opened the doors to find a heavy downpour of rain.
However, the men’s initial reaction was quite the opposite of Lani’s husband’s. One of the guys looked down at everyone’s feet and asked who had the least expensive shoes on.
Upon hearing that question, Lani’s eyes widened, and her jaw dropped. She thought the guy’s behavior was completely unacceptable.
The girls looked at each other with blank expressions on their faces as if they couldn’t believe what was happening.

Lani also got the impression that the dates had not gone very well, and the shoe comment was just the icing on the cake.
As the four of them crowded into the small entryway with Lani, they continued with their conversation.
The guys were still trying to determine who should make the sacrifice, whining about how their brand-new shoes would be ruined if they went outside.
Finally, one of the girls offered to get the car. The guys seemed relieved at first, asking if she was sure she didn’t mind.
But when she asked them where the car was parked, they just declared they would get the car themselves because they didn’t want to explain where the car was.
When the guys left, the other girl said to her friend that she couldn’t believe she had offered to get the car.
The girl who offered revealed that she had just been playing dumb and pretended not to know where they had parked so the guys would suck it up and get the car. She had never planned on walking out there, even though she was just wearing Birkenstocks.
