It’s That Time Of Year Where We’re About To Spend More Time Inside

The following column is the opinion and analysis of the writer. As it gets colder out there and we may start to see some snow on the ground somewhat soon, we begin taking more and more of our daily activities indoors.
I mean, my favorite activities are indoor workouts and online shopping, but something else gets taken off the table once the weather gets too cold or wet: outdoor dates!
Here Are 7 Indoor Date Ideas To Try Out As It Gets Colder Outside

Many people resort to outdoor dates when they first start seeing someone, as walks in the park or cozy picnics are often cheaper and more exciting than a long dinner at an expensive restaurant.
However, those of us who live in states with chilly falls and winters often lose the option of going on fun outdoor dates this time of year. But have no fear! Indoor dates can be just as fun, and there are so many more things to do than go out to dinner or walk around a museum.
If you’re trying to come up with some fun dates for the upcoming frigid weather, here are great things to do with your partner indoors!
1. Cook A Meal Together

Some people may get stressed out while cooking, but having a chill night where you cook a comforting meal with your partner can be romantic and fun.
Go online and look up a recipe that looks easy to make and delicious, grab the ingredients from the grocery store, then open a bottle of wine and cook together, splitting up the steps. You’ll have fun and make some sweet memories!
2. Play Some Games

This is a great idea if you and your partner could use some time off your screens. Grab a deck of cards or a board game that works with two people and play away. You can learn new things about each other and enjoy some fun competition. Better yet, make some wholesome bets along the way. For instance, the first person to lose a round of ‘Go Fish’ has to buy the other ice cream. Doesn’t that sound fun?
3. Read A Book Or Listen To An Audiobook Together

Reading something to your partner or having your partner read aloud to you is a very intimate and sweet indoor date activity. If there’s a book the two of you have been wanting to read, read it together!
Cozy up on the couch and take turns reading aloud or listen to an audiobook version for a lovely indoor date night.
4. Have A Cocktail Competition

If you and your partner love trying new drinks and cocktails, you should have a cocktail-off! Go to the liquor store together and take turns picking out spirits and mixers to craft your own signature cocktail.
Then go home, make your cocktails, and have a taste test to see which you like best! And if you can’t decide on a winner, then at least you have two new cocktail recipes to show off to your friends.
5. Redecorate Your Home

If you and your partner live together and could use a little bit of a change as we enter a new year, use the next rainy day as an excuse to redecorate your home!
Rearrange some furniture, hang up some pictures you’ve meant to display, buy some new throw pillows and other decor, etc.
6. Plan A Vacation

Many people enter the wintertime already longing for warmer months. So, one way to spend a cold winter’s day is to plan your next spring or summer vacation with your partner!
Start looking up some hotels or Airbnbs in your chosen destination and spend the evening planning a fun itinerary. This will give you and your partner something to look forward to during the colder nights.
7. Have A Spa Night

Many women like to have indoor spa nights with their friends, but why not do it with your partner, too? Pull out some face masks, a foot bath, and whatever kind of spa supplies you have to give you and your partner a little TLC.
You can give each other massages or simply sit happily beside each other as you relax and enjoy a face mask or foot soak.
Indoor Dates Don’t Have To Be Too Expensive Or Boring

If you put a little extra effort into them and focus on enjoying quality time with your partner, you’ll have a great time. What are some of your favorite indoor date ideas?
